Talkin' of music...has anyone noticed the nod to Bowie on '1/2 Full'? Being an old time Bowie freak I made the connection first time. Listen to Bowie's song 'Width of a Circle' on the album 'The man who sold the world' and then listen to '1/2 full' - especially the end part. They're identical.

    The sound references...

    Binaural / Quadrophenia

Eddie thanks Pete on the lyric sheet, Soon Forget borrows heavily from Blue, Red & Grey and Breakerfall riff is straight outta I Can See For Miles...

Just didn't notice it before.... :o

OK, I'm gonna give Rid Of Me (PJ Harvey) a :)

It's not a :D because after a couple of listens I'm still a little wary of going anywhere near her... :o

This album is emotionally & sexually charged throughout, intense, raw, just look at some of the song titles: Rub Til It Bleeds, Man-Size, Snake, the jilted lover on Rid Of Me... frightening stuff for the male of the species...

Her soft then loud (viceral) approach on the lead off title track makes me jump out of my skin every time, the attitude is then maintained for a draining 48 minutes at which point I quickly threw on Revolver for some light relief, this is heavy shit but very well done, highlights for me being Missed (at times sounding like Chrissie Hynde), the re-invention of Highway 61 revisited and 50ft Queenie.

    Guys, approach with caution... :o

    Good Morning People!

I suppose I can wait until i begin my Santa slaughter since all you freaks seem to like the guy !! :)

On another note I've to go to Nottingham this weekend - any one know of anything remotely exciting (apart from Sherwood Forest and those underground cave things) to do in the place?

yeah, about 3 people a decade are killed there ;)

Dave, she's coming from Belfast for fucks sake... they eat bullets over there man :D
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
