No problem... lol, no I meant 'it's my birthday' as a kinda 'there are nice things going on my head' thing... but I probably subconsciously said birthday cos it's next week

How did ya know that VV??? Nah no day off though, going to a friend this weekend and probably have a bit of a mad one - maybe a few drinks Monday after work, nothing special.

For nice places to drink I like the Grassmarket and Stockbridge areas. Slightly more touristy is the Royal Mile.

There are lots of good restaurants in the area too.

Shopping - the main shopping street is Princes' Street, parrallel to this run Rose Street and George Street (slightly more upmarket).

Slightly more unusual shops you can try Grassmarket, Cockburn Street and Victoria Street.

And relaxing, always nice to sit in Princes' Street Gardens or take a walk up to Arthur's Seat.

Edinburgh seems such a great place.. I wish I could stay there longer. (i.e. I wish I'd have the money to stay there longer ) but Glasgow (where I'm staying) seems awfully nice too.

EDIT: I'm not going there in August. July..

Nah... I looked at it to see if it was there and if that's how VV knew! Just let people know when it is so we can all wish you a happy birthday. Mine is on July 21st - any prezzies gratefully received! :D
