I'm surprised you did! There were loads of people stealing spots in the queue..or maybe that was dunk?!!!! :eek:2006 ░▒▓ Astoria, Dublin, Leeds, Reading, Lisbon, Paris, Verona, Athens

i didnt steal a spot
and Hellsy got her spot back so that was cool!!oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -
psycosmic wrote:if you follow my link and click on the "pearl jam @ the astoria, london" set you can see all my pictures... i didn't take too many of the queue although i still had my camera then - bloody security...
i'll post some more pics though at the appropiate time...
Man, I was depressed enough this time last year now you've brought it all back to me (twist the knife a little bit more why don't you!).

Yep...was killing time by shopping. I think we had already had lunch and were on to find the hotel that was 'so near by' (!!!!) at this point. That walk from the tube nearly killed me...I was so ready to turn back to the venue!2006 ░▒▓ Astoria, Dublin, Leeds, Reading, Lisbon, Paris, Verona, Athens

Just don't read the thread... that's what I'm not doing... errr...Oh yeah? Well, I've had about enough of morons and halfwits, dolts, dunces, dullards and dumbbells - and you chowderhead yokel, you blithering hayseed, you - you've had enough of me?0 -
still no ticket :( ... but sat chatting to some lovely people in The Royal George
... who were all guarding their tickets
So are we strangers now? Like rock and roll and the radio?0 -
Probably by now, I've met a couple of crazy scots tattooing rats on their arms...
Damn.. I am sooooo tempted to listen to Astoria now.. just sorted my laptop with it ready for later...0 -
I'm now sat outside the steakhouse in Argyll Street with a can of Export caning down a ciggie, waiting for my eBay tout to turn up, deciding whether to give him the money or grab the ticket and run off...0

I produced an envolope that supposedly contained £400 (the buy it now price). In it was £100 less than that, and then another £50 less used for train ticket, beers, sandwich and money for a drink or two once inside.I didn't think he'd be stupid enough to start counting a wad of cash in the middle of Oxford St in broad daylight. But he did
We swapped envelopes, and just for a laugh I waited to see his face when he was to realise there was just over half of what he asked, and I had the ticket now safely in my pocketHe started swearing at me and saying how his brother's up the road and how he's gonna report me to eBay, to all of which I replied, 'Do I give a shit?'
I just walked off. He didn't follow me 'cos he had to wait for whoever was buying the other one.
So by this point I'm walking up Oxford Street towards Centre Point, keeping my eyes peeled for fellow PJers...0 -
Nice work ripping the tout off!!!Scratchin a Letter wrote:Out of the tube comes a spotty 15 year old in a tracksuit, asks me if I'm Robin, I said yes and asked him to show me the ticket, which looked pretty legit. He had a copy of the email from Seetickets to prove it was a real one and asked for the money.

Ha ha, thats brilliant, you should have just stuck 50 quid in the envelope though. 250 is still such a rip off no matter how much we all love PJ. I just couldn't bring myself to pay it when I've got 2 kids I could spend the money on.
Thanks for the tip though, might have to try that one if I ever have to give in to an Ebay tout and I'm sure the gig was well worth 250!Underneath this smile lies everything........... all my hopes, anger, pride and shame0 -

Oh, and now I've just walked around the corner of Oxford St and Charing X Road, which has been flooded by people in PJ shirts. Making my way to the Royal George now... on my way past I glance up at this sign0 -

LMAO RR
Well I think I've collected dunk by now and I've checked into the hotel and I'm probably in a taxi now explaining to the taxi driver what's going on and why there are so many people around the Astoria
Then I get out and introduce dunk to my new friends in the queue and we go to the Royal George... I have one pint and a couple of shots of sambuca and then back to the queuewhere I remain happily until about 6pm when the moving started
Oh I still never found that cool Irish guy who kept offering me cans of beer cos I was Irish. I've been meaning to get him one back for that... I took one and then realised that would be enough cos peeing could be a problem in the near future
