For starters, it doesn't mean anything when you get shut out. Also, due to GA, reserved seats are actually not as good as they used to be. Don't get me wrong, they're still better than non Ten Club seats, but the GA has pushed reserve seats back a bit. My guess is about 15-20 rows, and maybe even more depending on your number.BE9456 said:

Were you guaranteed seats in the past with seniority? Completely serious question...I have no idea how the 10c worked in the 90s except that people filled out a postcard with the shows that they wanted.. I thought seniority always just got you better seats and it never guaranteed tickets.0 -

The whole thing is run incorrectly to where seniority no longer matters. THAT is the problem. Those who have paid our dues for years should have the first option, ALWAYS. That some douche signed up last year lucked into Wrigley and maybe multiple shows this year is the topper. I believe I only got PHX last year as NO ONE wanted to go there; so much so they had a 2nd 10C sale for tickets.
There has to be a better way and it starts with your 10C number before anything else.0 -

No, seats have never been guaranteed, but there were fewer members and more shows back then. Now, with the GA pit, seating by seniority doesnt mean much. The new ticket system really focuses on getting more members to join and, IMO, is about quantity (in terms of membership) rather than quality. I get it, tickets are limited, fans are now older so they have money to travel and there are fewer shows per tour, but it really feels like seniority barely matters anymore. To pay your dues for 20 years without lapse for anything should mean something.Indifference71 said:

I've been pretty fortunate with the lottery (except for Wrigley and London), but I preferred to have control and it hurts to see fans I've been seeing next to me for decades (who are just as energetic and into it as the new members) getting shutout in the lottery.

I got my first choice, Moline GA. I haven't been to a show in 8 years. I had to cancel my membership when I lost my job 5 years ago, re joined in October and it paid off. in the past I had lost out on many shows, and I lost out on Wrigley which broke my heart. So I am so happy to be able to see them up close in Moline, and it's only an hour and half from home.1998--Alpine Valley, WI

A little history of what I recall...in 98 and 2000, you got only one show, and you were basically guaranteed tickets. My guess is due to this limitation and number of members back then, it was never an issue. In 2003, they opened the floodgates and allowed unlimited shows. We were virtually guaranteed seats that tour too. At the MSG 2 show that year, I remember Ed saying something that night one had like 7000 members and night 2 had 8000 or so. Based on those numbers, seems like a virtual guarantee. In 2005, it went online for the Canadian tour, but I don't think those sold out, so it wasn't a big deal. 2006 is where the issues started a bit due to the server pounding for tickets for certain, high demand or low allocated ticket shows.Indifference71 said:

In my honest opinion, I do think that the lottery should be weighted a little for seniority. Prior to the 2008 shows, tickets were allocated via blocks of ten club numbers, so people would be standing in line all day, rain, shine, and heat! I remember in 2003, the line for the United Center was absurdly long. Think about the current GA lines now and multiply it by a lot.Fighting childhood obesity...

I agree seniority could be better weighted but what are those who have been members for years suggesting?
I joined in 2009 have been to 9 shows, but merch bootlegs etc...should I never be able to sit GA because I was 1 year old when PJ started the fan club? That also doesnt seem fair to me...0 -
Nope. Me and two buddies all tried it as first choice. We all 3 were denied. Got our other 2 shows but its a bit disappointing. Wondering if it would be better to just go for single seats on friday vs. even trying to get 3 seats together.Eddieshometown said:Did everyone who selected Moline-Reserved as their first choice win?
