Better Ed album, No Code or Binaural?

RiotZactRiotZact Posts: 6,207
These are by far my favorite albums PJ has ever made, and a huge part of that can be credited to Ed's contributions to them, I think these are clearly his best 2 albums for music writing. So which one do you guys think he did better on?

No Code:
Sometimes
Off He Goes
Habit
Lukin
Around the Bend

Binaural:
Breakerfall
Insignificance
Grievance
Soon Forget
Parting Ways

I like No Code as an album a lot more, but as far as the songs you mention, I think he did better with Binaural.

No Code for sure. To me, the No Code/Yield era has been the best that Ed's voicew has sounded - at least to my ears. Not to mention, the lyrics on No Code are deep to say the least. Also. No Code was the first time the band took on a distinct different direction in their sound from the previous albums - I believe that was driven mostly by Ed.

No Code was my first PJ album so I am very partial to it, so it is my go to album for just wanting to get lost in the band.

No question, No Code. Present Tense, Hail Hail, Off He Goes...Binaural is good, but no comparison.

Unquestionably No Code. It's my favorite of all their albums, while Binaural is the one I listen to the least.

No code , but also backspacer had some of his greatest songs , unthought known, speed of sound and just breathe. Binaural is great and light years is a particular favourite of mine. But also post Roskilde , riot act had some his most emotional songs, love boat captain and I am mine . But regarding the question no code is a masterpiece in play listing from start to finish, a spritual journey(for me anyway)...,

    Binaural by leaps and bounds.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.

Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

Binaural all the way. Grievance and Insignificance alone crush every song on the No Code list besides Off He Goes so strictly based on his contributions I have to give this contest to Binaural.

That one seemed heavier on "Ed" influence than Binaural.

I love the dynamics of Pearl Jam fandom! We all favor different members, songs, or albums for our own reasons. But the one constant that keeps us together is that we all just love this same band.
