    Slow Ghost is incredible.  

    Y’all know my feelings on the demo version of Ocean of Darkness.   I like the new version…but the original is a near perfect song…

    That said, I definitely ordered the deluxe edition of IDLHA just for those two tracks.

    Damn.  Just listened to the demo version again.  If you’ll indulge me for a moment, that song came out on Fallon in what is now looking like the early middle of the pandemic, and we were home bound with a baby.  It was such an unknown time.  Nothing made sense.  Everything was scary and nothing was, if that makes sense.  I am forever grateful that I was able to work from home, that my wife and I love spending time together and are ok doing our own things too.  We made it out ok and alive and everyone was fine.

    But those were some really dark days for so many reasons that are specific to me and not specific at all, because so many of us felt it too.  

    And then that song came out of the dark, like  that first day you open your windows in the spring, and it fucking hit me in my heart and memory and rooted there.  It gave me so much hope, for music, live music, real tangible shit in a time when the only thing you could touch or experience was what was immediately in front of you, which was nowhere at all and all you had.  Sorry for the melodrama, but I still get a little heartsick thinking about when this song came out, and I’ve never forgotten how much hope and joy it gave me.
