What kind of music is this?

Pretty mellow indie rock, in the vein of Kurt Vile (former member), Woods, and Real Estate. The 'Lost in a Dream' album in particular, all I can say is, 80's. As in, 1980's. But, in a good way. You've got your soft, lush, spacey sounds, syth drums, almost Don-Henley-ish, but it works.

Honestly I'm having a hard time listening to the record all the way through, gets quite repetitive, but I'm finding myself put this one on more and more and it's growing on me.

If there's anything that I've grown into more in the past few years, its the power of a good, long song. I know that sounds dumb, but the power of these songs lie in their length. By the end of "An Ocean In Between The Waves," if you're not absolutely rocking out along with them, you're not paying attention. So many layers going on...

I'm not sure I agree on the repetitive comment; I definitely can see that on their first two albums (which I'm not as into). I think it's definitely heavy on the rockers up front and lighter on the back end, but there's enough texture to the guitars on each song throughout to make it a unique listen.

But that's just the two cents of a guy who can't stop listening to the album. Haha.

Yeah dude, I think this is one that will continue growing on me, and I trust your judgement so I'll keep giving this one a chance! The first I heard of this band was 'Arms Like Boulders', from Wagonwheel Blues, and I absolutely LOVE that song, very Dylan-esque. They've changed/progressed as a band a bit, but in a good way.

I may pull the ol' "show-up-at-First-Ave-with-no-ticket" trick for this show. The last 3 shows I've been to, I've bumped into someone giving away an extra ticket. If this should happen, first round's on me Vant!

this album has been on repeat at my house since it came out. i bought the vinyl first and then bought the cd a week later so i could play it in my car. i have a problem i think. i have bought so much new music lately (damon albarn, tame impala, elbow, band of horses, temples, s. carey, woods, st. vincent, mounties, lord huron, chris robinson, beck, liam finn etc.) and keep going back to lost in the dream even though i havent even listened to some of these albums all of the way through. solid from track 1 til the end.

Discovered them recently and blown away. Glad they just released tour dates, I gotta see them! One of the best bands I've heard in a long time.

After another run through the entire album over dinner, I gotta say, I'm becoming more and more interested! Good, long jams too that you can get lost in. Bump from good to great.
