many yrs ago my family & i were out in the yard doing yardwork & making the place spiffy. i bent down to grab & pick up a metal pipe lying on the ground next to the garage. easy chore.
then agony struck swiftly in stealth mode... something stung the hell out of my left hand's pinky finger. i am not allergic to bee, wasp, hornet, bummble bee/yellow jacket, or mud dauber stings. but what made this sting horrendous was the sting being placed into a small concentrated area, my pinky. damn man, it was as if my pinky finger was on fire but in the bone itself, lava if you will. my pinky grew swollen, splitting apart, oozing yellow (infectious?) pus. my pinky was black & blue-purple & the size of my thumb if not bigger. this lasted 4-6 weeks.

dad says to me one day, "better go to the hospital so they can chop your finger off"
no... i am not having my finger cut off. that isn't gonna happen at all

this was some of the worst pain i ever felt. now all i have is some scarring. finger works fine & is a normal pinky again

    You worked with RM22?!?!?!

Ha! I thought the same thing!

I'd rather think of hot dogs than spider bites and pus and swollen appendages and amputations and the like. I'd rather eat a microwaved hotdog or one right out of the package.

    Peace.

I just gagged a little at the thought of eating a true hotdog out of the package or microwaved.
Gonna stick to my local made bratwurst and chorizo sausage as my version of hotdogs.

Thanks, I needed that. Glad you're okay now, but I do find it funny when people experience pain for some reason.

Just chowed down and honest to goodness hotdog as aa late night snack to appease the wine drunk munchies. It was charred over the campfire with mayo and dijon mustard and sooo good. Can't wait for the chorizo goodness tomorrow. Also randomly Evenflow just came on on my friends ipod.

Maybe that's where they get the term Bangers and Mash.

    juggler,

    no hospital, goofy i know.

i also didn't mention this in that sort little story but i meant too - i did not see exactly what stung me but i did see a wasp or two a short distance down there on the ground right near the pipe i was grabbing. so i concluded it was one of those nasty little guys that got me

When we were in Europe, we stayed a couple of days in Thuringia. It is a state in Germany that is famous for it's bratwurst, called Roster. To me, no hotdog in the world could ever come close to this... We also had duck with bread and bacon dumplings and sauerkraut in a medieval castle in the Czech republic. We ate so much good food, it was insane. I smuggled two German breads over here in my suitcase. And a couple of bags of German gummy bears. Now I indulge a little a time, so they don't end to soon... Sigh.

As for the cheese discussion... I am not lactosis intolerant. I love yogurt. I do hate milk though. I have no idea why I don't like cheese, but I just don't. In Germany, there was no problem whatsoever to get a decent bun with ham or eggs on it, and there was no cheese on everything. When I get a sandwich here, I always get ones without, of course. But when you are on the road, you gotta get the prepacked stuff sometimes. And these always have cheese on them. I don't want my ham tasting like the cheese that it touched :-& But hey, I live with it. Some people don't like bell peppers or tomatoes. This is something that I find incredible too. But they exist.

Chadwick, wasps are nasty! I learned you cut an onion open and press the cut side on the wound to ease the pain... My mom is allergic to wasp stings. She once had an anaphylactic shock when she was stung in the garden. Since then, our family hates the little fuckers...

I only eat green and yellow bell peppers. I won't touch the red ones with a ten foot pole.
I also don't eat tomatoes. Ketchup however, I have been known consume half a bottle at a time.

I'm the pickiest eater I've ever met.
