An apology and a scumbag move

A few weeks ago I offered for trade my unworn flexfit blue surfboard logo hat from 2006. My inbox was flooded within minutes. I apologize for making a trade with someone who only days later has it listed on eBay for 3x the original cost.

When I saw the listing on eBay I was shocked. I asked the greedy man if he listed it for auction and he said NOPE! However, the username on eBay was the exact name as his email I sent pics of the hat to.

I'm not upset that I should have listed it as auction on the bay, I'm glad I can now enjoy looking at two posters instead of having this stored on a shelf in my closet.

I only wish I had made a trade with a fan actually wanted to wear the hat and not someone that just wanted to make money

Sucks man, sorry you made a deal with a shitty person, but don't feel bad, it's out of your control once you make the deal.

Enjoy the posters man, and I guess next time only make trades with reputable members on here.

By the way, what's the policy on here of posting member's name who pull stuff like this?

that sucks as I think I was #2 or #3 to PM you after him. Don't worry as it will come back to haunt him..PJ KARMA! LOL...
  • The same person has multiple PJ items marked up. Including a poster that is still available in the shop.
  • Not that I really had too much of a problem with it- some 'true fan' will ultimately be wearing the hat- but out of curiosity, I checked out that listing. I looked at the guy's feedback and noticed he had sold over 10 red replacement lightning bolt LPs. How does a person get 10 of these?

I have a problem with people selling stuff for twice cost when it is still available at retail. Shady.

It's not really 'shady'. The entire flipping scene is generated by over-zealous consumers. If people weren't so eager to spend ridiculous amounts of cash on items they don't truly need, this wouldn't be a problem that some people see it as.

With that said, I've gone to EBay for items that I don't really need as well... so... I'm part of the 'problem'. Truthfully though, while I might have hated spending the inflated prices, I was glad to have the opportunity to purchase. If only 'true fans' purchased what I sought at the shows, I would never have had the chance to own them afterwards.

I understand your point, but selling something for twice it's cost when it is still available on the bands website is shady.

Yes, a pm wouldn't be out of line with the username to let us avoid dealing with them.

A lot of times there are people here who wish they could help as many people as possible. It would be good to know who pulls this kind of shit so the list will be a bit shorter next time someones in a position to help others.

Well, we can help each other out by keeping each other in the 'know' when we see someone dealing with a user with a bad rep via PM or back channel.
