My 9-year old daughter got ed's tamborine last night in chicago!

unreal - the best show i have EVER seen!

we were 3rd row dead center in front of eddie! my daughter was in her pj shirt from the last tour.

the show went for 2 and 1/2 hours - my daughter stood on her chair the whole time and made eye contact with ed many a time - she knew every song and was singing along.

vedder threw a towel in the crowd, pointed and said it is for the little girl.
somehow it never made it to her - vedder saw that.

after you've got hide your love away - he looked right at me and my daughter and threw his pick with perfect accuracy right at her feet - she is the prowd owner of a ev gtar pick.

during baba, he smashed up 2 tambourines - stood at the edge of the stage -pointed with authority and seriousness and said "this is for the little girl!" he
tossed it - the guy next to my daughter caught it and handed it right to her -she was in heaven! she said - "it has eddie's hair on it!" the entire sold out united center looked right at us - i smiled at ed and mouthed a huge thank you.

finally during ledbetter as mike was soloing at the end, ed sat down and scanned the crowd waving goodbye - he got to my dauughter, stopped - flashed a hang loose sign which she promptly returned - smiled back at her and then it was over.

i cannot express the night i shared with my daughter - she was by far the
youngest in the venue and the only kid on the floor - everyone around us was so cool - they would look at her singing, bouncing on her chair, clapping and smiling so large that it made everyone smile!

pearl jam concert with your 9-year old daughter / third row center at united center... priceless!

Thanks 10C, my fellow long-time 10C members and most of all EV for making last night so amazing!

see you all tonight back at the UC - second row - Stone's side!

Aww, that is such a cute story. Made me wish I were a 9-year-old girl ;)

Sounds like she must have had the time of her life. I really envy her. And so nice of Eddie to make last night such a great experience for both of you.

How do you know you are 2nd row Stone's side already? Those were my seats last night, I wonder if I'm going to have better ones tonight. I saw the guy catch the tambourine but I couldn't see who he gave it to.

Good grab on the pick, I managed to catch one of Stone's.

FABULOUS story!! How wonderful, beautiful! Thank you for sharing!

I think my 2 boys ( 3 1/2 and 9 mos) are still too young for a live show, but the older one sings along sometimes!

Thanks again, and may tonight be just as magical for you.

What an awesome story!! How cool is Ed for doing that!

Wow. My little girl is going to be 2 soon, and I hope that PJ are still touring when she's old enough to go to a show.

I love stories like those...they are my all time favorites on the board!

I am really happy for your daughter for having such a wonderful and interactive experience with a band she enjoys and obviously, you as well! :)

Nothing more important than giving her a great taste of concert and YOU being a part of it!!

    Congrats!! :D

Schmitty - my husband and I sat right behind you in Row 4 and we haven't stopped talking about you and your daughter all day. You were truly an inspiration to us (we have an 11 month old son) and a wonderful way to experience a PJ show.

To everyone on this board - it was a really special night. This little girl stood on her chair the whole concert - smiling, singing every word, especially to Baba. When she got tired during the 3rd encore, her dad gave her his knee to sit on. She clearly touched Ed and those around her. It was really clear that Ed was trying to get that towel to her. She was just in the third row people! How hard can it be? Unfortunately there was some sort of social club going on in the front two rows and were not tuned into Ed's vibe.

Schmitty - your daughter rocks. Thanks for making our first concert in Chicago a memorable one.
We're still making records for people who listen to it all the way through, eyes closed, in that space.

You know I was about to slap you...until I saw your rolleyes. :p

I've never gotten a pick either... who cares, anyway.

I enjoy reading 1,000 stories like this rather than getting ONE myself. :p

But of course, I'd post if I got one.... :D

I'll personally pm you first, Stryker. :D;)

Enjoy your shows - and for those after-shows, enjoy your memories, and for those who are long-awaiting for their first shows, be patient - your time will come!!

Back to this little girl's incredible experience.... yay!!! :D

Heh, I totally agree with you. I have my memories, my boots, my posters, and my ticket stubs. Thats all I really need. That being said, if I ever got one Eddie's tamborine I'd probably hang it on a wall and spend no less then one hour a day drooling over it.
