    I've passed on the threads to 'newbies' (yes, newer members than I). What they do with them, I cannot say; but, they wanted to meet members and I said this was the place to meet some great people. :x

    I decided to put in for Denver late last night, what the hell. Still shows ENTERED.

    I'll post in Facebook - I have friends that have children with all sorts of special needs so maybe they'll respond. I'm posting for the CDF (Celiac Disease Foundation) challenge and need donors for that (my son has celiac disease, was diagnosed at 3years, 13 years ago) so I'm not sure how generous people are - maybe they'll surprise me.

    I am incapable of tweeting - 140 characters??? Me?? =))

    I'm going out to do some picture taking in about an hour. Positive, healing thoughts being sent out to the whole Black family and to Hannah while she endures dialysis (thank God we have such a medical procedure available!) :)>-

    Good luck to both your girls on the 3rd, and if you need a spare for Denver you can have mine if I get lottery lucky as it is just me making the trek down from northern BC.
    As promised I have a spare GA if you want it for the Denver show.

    Wife and I came up empty.

    A further update for Hannah

    As Rob has mentioned, Hannah has a few more dialysis treatments. Had one today, will have one Friday and then will come home for a day and a half!!!!! She'll get to watch a volleyball tourney, cuddle with her awesome dog Pearl, and see that I've been taking good care of the house. ;) She'll possibly sleep in her own bed for two whole nights! But I'm betting the couch gets one of them.

    The girls haven't been home in a month (maybe more-I've lost track of time) and its going to be a short visit. She actually has dialysis Monday also, right up to the day before surgery. (yes, we are grateful that this is even an option). Speaking of surgery, she spoke with her surgeon today for the first time. Seems we've had a late entry into the cast of experts and we are more than happy to have his expertise and hands taking care of our girl. Hannah sounds great. Upbeat and ready to go. Nervous of course, but ready.

    I'm planning my race route now that the girls have a better time table of the procedures. I'll be wearing comfortable shoes for a few days... I plan to be with each of them as they come out of surgery, but it may be a logistical nightmare. They are actually in two different hospitals! They are terraced up the mountainside, but I know where the 4th floor skywalk meets the bottom floor already so as long as my legs dont fail me, I will be there when they wake up.

    Work beckons me. I'll try to update you folks later.

    Two separate hospitals? Man, they don't make it easy for you, do they? Remember to stay hydrated. Continued good thoughts for the Black family. :)

    Hannah and I met with our surgeons again yesterday. (And another round of bloodwork) That went very well and we have confidence that we are in good hands.

    They will do dialysis Friday and Monday again to make sure that Hannah is going in to surgery as healthy as possible.

    We are a bit nervous..... But know that so many people are sending us good vibes. We will also have a great caregiver. Dave will be joining us ;) my mom will be helping too on the tag team effort.

    I'm surprised that I didn't get lottery tickets. I just assumed that the Pearl Jam Gods were smiling on us. We will still try to be in Denver.

    I will be thinking of you guys on Tuesday - I have a CT Scan of my lungs that day (which terrifies me) and getting 10 injections in my back afterwards; so keeping all of you in my thoughts will put everything in perspective and help me. I'll be sending LOTS of Chi out to you, possibly like a mantra.

    So glad you are happy with the surgeon. You guys sure are troopers. Good things are coming....... :)>-

    Since I'm at high risk for getting lung cancer according to the guidelines; my doctor did an X-ray, which was fine, but recommended me for a lung scan. I'm younger than the age in the guidelines by a couple years, but better to see if there's anything brewing before it becomes untreatable. Hopefully, this is merely a baseline. Thanks for your good wishes and concern - since I've lost both siblings at a young age; I think it's best to do everything possible to prevent what I can.

    I have to admit, I did feel like I was on work release. At least my event t-shirt wasn't bright orange, had stripes or in the case of Sheriff Joe, pink.

    Since I'm at high risk for getting lung cancer according to the guidelines; my doctor did an X-ray, which was fine, but recommended me for a lung scan. I'm younger than the age in the guidelines by a couple years, but better to see if there's anything brewing before it becomes untreatable. Hopefully, this is merely a baseline. Thanks for your good wishes and concern - since I've lost both siblings at a young age; I think it's best to do everything possible to prevent what I can.
