Those Apple announcers are absolute hot garbage.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

The random probabilities in the lower right hand corner were annoying and excessive. No life from the announcers, at least not for the Phils. But that's fine, I think one guy was a former Met. So it made it that much better of a win.

Castellanos loves to swing and miss at that low outside pitch doesn’t he? Wtf seen it like 100 times this year.0

Hell of a game last night, can't really complain. Nola was great, but DeGrom was absolutely filthy.
Need Wheeler to do it again today.0 -

that didn't happen. Mets just are a tad bit better than us. Need Harper back soon.

Franske is a treasure. Having someone as great as him call the same game as McCarthy does on tv just continues to illustrate how horrible Tmac is. For the life of me, I will never understand how the Phillies value that schlub on tv more than him.Jearlpam0925 said:The random probabilities in the lower right hand corner were annoying and excessive. Any of you guys getting concerned about Fetterman? He is up big right now, but I watched his rally from the weekend and he does not sound right to me. Don't think he was ever the best public speaker but he seemed to really struggle through that short speech....www.myspace.com0

I didn't see it yet. I saw him on Zoom in the winter and he's not a super great public speaker. Definitely a slow starter. The Juggler said:Any of you guys getting concerned about Fetterman? EDIT: Watched the whole video. Yes he's very deliberate and has to build his stamina but it wasn't anything that worried me. Seems like a remarkable recovery actually. The only policy he mentioned was minimum wage - makes sense.
If anyone is up for getting their hands dirty the most valuable use of volunteer time is on PA State House races. Some of the suburban ones are coin tosses.Post edited by Johnny Abruzzo onSpectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Just my anecdotal evidence, but I think people who aren't dumb are getting sick of the "Make Fun of Oz" schtick, it's getting stale real quick. Even for my liking. BUT, with that said, I think Fetterman's campaign is right to lay into it because PA is Florida Jr. and the overall electorate is very very dumb (I know, I'm an asshole for saying that), and you have to appeal to the lowest common denominator and Fetterman has Trump-ish-style attributes, and Fetterman's campaign has the data to back it up.The Juggler said:Any of you guys getting concerned about Fetterman? Also, I think Oz is actively being torpedoed from within his own campaign because I can't believe it's actually, genuinely, this bad.
You would know better than me when evaluating the actual man, though. My vote's been set in stone before any of this anyway (no Republican will be getting my vote for a very, very, very, very long time - basically the two major parties' platforms would have to flip). I'm not watching speeches, etc.
The bigger worry for me is Doug. He's getting more national GOP/major GOP donor money and quietly keeping himself in this race by deliberately blocking out the media, which of course is garbage. That isn't to say Shapiro hasn't run great ads, but the Professional Politician is at a disadvantage in my opinion.
Just an example on my end: my state rep has a Republican challenger for the General. Which I'm all for, gimme all the competition there needs to be, please. But in reality this Republican challenger has absolutely no chance of winning (if she actually wanted to win she'd run as a Dem). BUT they've got decent campaign material and boots on the ground (paying people) because Doug's campaign is funding it (aka "we'll give you money to run your campaign but you have to hand out Doug lit, too", etc etc).Post edited by Jearlpam0925 on0 -
Yeah it's that kind of silly "make Oz look like such a ginormous loser that nobody in their right mind could even think about voting for this clown" - "crudite'" - like you say some campaign staffer who presumably has some sort of a clue should've pulled that video. I'm bored of the "making fun of him" thing but it's clearly working with the ole regular folks.
Totally different dynamic in the guv race. Doug's platform has absolutely terrified people and the suburbs are ridiculously flooded with Shapiro signs. The first Doug sign I saw anywhere was at an offramp of I-80 in Western PA. (Did I mention I was at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony and Dick Vermeil's celebration party???) But yeah the national GOP will totally rally behind him - he basically echoes their platform, just in a more honest manner.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25
