The article I read said Philadelphia didn't bid for a semifinal - they were hoping for a quarterfinal or the (ugh) 3rd place game. They should've bid for the damn final - USA250 baby. We always sell ourselves short.Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

Gotta figure the final is LA, especially with that stadium, though maaaaaybe they won't want to have it there twice in a row so maybe New York (or Dallas) gets it?Johnny Abruzzo said:The article I read said Philadelphia didn't bid for a semifinal - they were hoping for a quarterfinal or the (ugh) 3rd place game. I wish that was still my shithole of a golf course that I called home. While an absolute dump, a 5 minute drive and less than a $40 greens fee. Miss that placeJearlpam0925 said:Wasn't there a huge brawl at the Linc between like Mexican and Ecuadorian fans when CONCACAF was here? I know! And it's even better now as not a golf course!Cliffy6745 said:

Haha, they just want to say they had the World Cup here for the 250th birthday of America, along with every other sport. And very much in the nature of the mindset of Philadelphians, we'll be the only ones who will give a shit and think everyone else gives equally the same amount of shit.Johnny Abruzzo said:The article I read said Philadelphia didn't bid for a semifinal - they were hoping for a quarterfinal or the (ugh) 3rd place game. I do look forward to bringing the kids to the MLB All Star game though.0 -

No. No one cares. No one cares that Philadelphia is hosting every major sport's all star game, and some world cup games. Zero. None. Outside of the Delaware Valley this is not an amazing feat, but we very much think it is. That's what America 250 was basically put together for.Cliffy6745 said:

Know who doesn't give a shit about golf? Children. Know what they love? Digging in sand boxes, running around in fields, throwing rocks from the bridges into the water, riding their bikes & scooters on the trails All things my kids do there now, for free. It's pretty awesome.0 -
Thought you were just saying the World Cup and my point was most cities care.Jearlpam0925 said:

both can exist0 -
Of course, but that's not my point. Further to the point, I would think/hope both can exist as in some soccer games can happen and leaving that portion of FDR alone. And the only reason Philly "cares", or wants it really, is for this totality of sports over the summer, etc etc. And usually, like most cities, the short-term gains aren't worth the long-term costs.
And if someone tries to sell me on the idea of "but now you have 8 soccer fields at FDR forever!". Then I say boooooooooo.0 -
Hope they get the doubleheader sweep.

Ok this is all kinds of ridiculous right now. The schedule has been extremely friendly, but regardless, still pretty ridiculous.0

Hell yeah:
Also, I need these PJ shows to start getting longer. I'm going to chalk it all up to 2/3+ years of rust being dusted off. But this is getting a little silly now. By the time September 14th rolls around I expect at least a 2.5 hour show!0 -
Looked at what that is in reference too and good stuff. Last year when I started going back into the office occasionally my Septa Key didn't work, I assume due to inactivity, but it also had plenty of money on it. Once a week I'd get on the bus, it'd beep that it didn't work, I'd tell the guy/lady it has money on it and they'd say just get on. Went on for a good few months or more. Finally got a new one when I figured the money would have run out on the one I had, but in that time frame, I think I got a hard from from one guy who said "yeah, I bet, that's what everyone says", but still let me on.Jearlpam0925 said:Hell yeah:

Haha, yeah, Key definitely had issues around that time. I still have a couple cards with way too much money on them and I don't feel like going through the hoops of moving it atm. Yeah, not one time has a driver kicked me off the bus though.Cliffy6745 said:

Yea 2 hours is a bit short. I think the last show had a hard curfew though. I don't need 3.5 hours but gotta be more than 20-22 songs that are pretty much Ten and Gigaton heavy.Jearlpam0925 said:Hell yeah:

I assume their is an embedded Tweet? If so, for some reason I haven't been seeing embedded Tweets for a few days now. Anyone have any Idea how I can view embedded tweets?Jearlpam0925 said:Hell yeah:

Yeah, if 22 song average/2 hours is the new norm, that will cut down the Traveling fan.
I was already thinking after September of never leaving my Time Zone again to see them.
Let's see what the rest of the Europe Tour Setlist look like.0 -
Exactly I'm not looking for Penn State or Mansfield every night, but like a proper two-encore set mixing all the albums (understand heavy on the current album) is PJ's trademark. Short of that, ya kinda lose the "great live band" label.
Hard curfew, festivals, makes sense. But let's get it together by September.0 -
Also, Dems are gonna completely fuck this up and end up with a piece of garbage worse than Trump as Gov:
