We could arrange something for the 16th or 17th if we have enough requests. Right now we only have 7 seats filled total. I'm thinking we will get more once people finalize their plans.

By the way, if you're interested in a real tattoo. I would suggest House of Tattoos on Haarlemmerdijk. https://www.facebook.com/pages/House-of-Tattoos-Amsterdam-Netherlands/103777146362165

I've been to see Leti there twice. She took my old tats (symbols) and really made it a nice full sleeve piece. Planning on going back for more updates to it when I'm there.

That's cool. I was considering getting a souvenir tattoo but decided I don't want to jump around in the pit with fresh ink. I'm really into the stuff they're doing at Salon Serpent (http://www.salonserpent.com) which is more traditional style, which I prefer, so maybe I can do a quick walk-in ;) I just got this Love Boat Captain tattoo last week, so I'm good on the tattoo side for a little while ;) (now let's see if I can figure this image stuff out):

I have 10C reserved seats for the first night and have an extra. I have a five digit 10C# (7X,XXX) so these should be the very best reserved seats in the house. I am looking to trade my first night ticket for a second night ticket. I am looking mainly for something in Sec 111 or Sec 102. If interested, PM me. Thanks.

Odd, because if you turned your head to the left you could look at an actual canal.

Always nice to have a little garden area!

    No not this time round.
I saw Soundgarden last year and though it was pretty good.
Money and time won't let me see them play this year.

I'm coming in from the US and will be in town for 11 nights. Fortunately, I get there a day before the two soundgarden shows (I didn't find out they were playing in the area until after I planned the PJ trip). I got a ticket to the Utrect show since it seems to be about 30 mins away, but as a tourist who will visiting amsterdam for the first time, the Tilburg show seems far away enough that it makes me a bit intimidated to attend (planning a late night train return, etc.). Maybe I'll change my mind about it though and get a ticket if they're still available

I didn't even know about the soundgarden shows. I'm gonna be Belgium the week before the PJ shows though and I'm seeing Soundgarden and NIN in August when I get home so I might not even bother looking into it.

I'm confused about this canal cruise thing though. It's in Amsterdam on the 15th? I would be down to join in. I don't get "baked" though and I'm not sure if that's a requirement?

First of all you are a lucky ........!
Attending a show in Tilburg has always been a bit tricky for me as well, even though I live closer.
The same problem occurs because you'll have to catch the train at midnight.
To be honest it is doable, but you need to leave 013 in time, because it is a little walk to the train station.
Not too far, but you need to be carefull.
One of the times I was there the gig ended in time and we went to shoot some pool and that made us miss the train only just. We ended up have to sleep over at my friends gandma.
But I reckon the gig will end before midnight and if you take 20 minutes to get to the station you'll be in time no problem. You could do it in 10, but that would be risky.

    http://www.ns.nl/reisplanner-v2/index.shtml

The venue really has a good vibe, the stage is very wide so you can see form every spot.
Going further in the back the room is really like a giant staircase. You have all these levels that allow you to see the band even if your in the back. The reason it is like that is because of the old location. It used to be Noorderlicht (Northernlight) and before that was turned into a concerthall it used to be a cinama. They tried to bring that back in this small way.

It is a smaller room than Tivoli Vredenburg, the sound is great, the view is great and the vibe is great. If you are in doubt, I'd go.
That being said Vredenburg is amazing as well. I have only been there twice, both times to see Beck.
Do you know that Lenny Krevitz video Are you gonna go my way? I always think of that when I think of Vredenburg, it has all these balcony's
Should Pearl Jam ever play there they could do another Bennyroyal hall type of gig. Since this year Vredenburg and Tivoli joined together, but there used to be only a few rock concerts there. It normally is a classic concert hall. It looks really nice and the acoustic is perfect. Not totally sure which venue the gig will be played at, but if it is the actual Vredenburg you in for a treat.

The show will be in the new Ronda hall of the TivoliVredenburg complex, so not the Oude Zaal (the one you were talking about).
http://www.tivolivredenburg.nl/info/Zalen/Ronda/ (description only available in Dutch, though there are several photos)
That one is brand new, no shows have taken place yet (I believe the first one will be in one or two weeks). So can't comment on the hall just yet. In the meantime I'm saying goodbye to the old Tivoli (too bad I never saw Pearl Jam play there). :)

I might go to the Soundgarden show in Utrecht too. But that depends on whether my friend can come over or not.

    Didn't go to that one.
Of these 40 legendary concerts in Tivoli I saw only 3 (Solomon Burke, Kyteman and R.E.M.)
    http://3voor12.vpro.nl/nieuws/2014/Beste-Poppodium/Veertig-legendarische-concerten-in-Tivoli-Utrecht.html
And yes, those concerts were really good. And I saw plenty of other excellent ones. :)

I haven't seen any of those gigs on the list.
I've been there many many times and saw some superb gigs.
R.E.M. would have been sweet, but no, I wasn't there.
That must have been brilliant seeing R.E.M. in such a small vanue.

Hey all, any hotel suggestions in central Amsterdam for 3 dudes not interested in sharing beds? Not easy finding a room to hold 3 adults. Thanks and see you there!

*Also looking for 2 tickets to night 2. Have 1 10C GA and cash for trade. Thanks,

When we would go with 4 or more we would get a houseboat right outside Central Station. That one was owned by this family that owned a hotel but they sold the HB and its now listed among many others on this site.

    http://www.houseboat-rental-amsterdam.com/

I still need ONE for night 2.

your post got me really pumped for the SG shows! i'm still undecided on tilburg but am leaning towards going. i'm assuming they play for about 2 hours, so it might depend on whether there is an opening band or not. i would just hate to miss the last train back to amsterdam... but maybe that would be a whole adventure in itself haha

apart from the utrect show to which i already have a ticket,, i'm already going to see SG twice back in my home state in august when they go on their co-headlining tour with NIN.

Hey all, any hotel suggestions in central Amsterdam for 3 dudes not interested in sharing beds? Not easy finding a room to hold 3 adults. Thanks and see you there!

*Also looking for 2 tickets to night 2. Have 1 10C GA and cash for trade. Thanks,

Fan Cruise - We currently only have 5 people on the list.
A maximum of 30 people fills a boat and tours typically last about 90 minutes.
If it is private, they can organize it at any time of our preference.
The normal cost is 17 euro, but with full private boats the price may be a little cheaper.
... Was thinking late afternoon/sunset time...
Location of the Boom Chicago dock is near Leidseplein.

PM me if you'd like to be put on the list. Once it looks like we have enough people then we'll set a time ..etc...

Very nice pictures, myoung321! It looks very similar to Copenhagen - only with even more water. I think I would feel very much at home there. Can't wait! Only 67 days to go!!! (not that I'm counting or anything...) /:)
