Arcade Fire Reflektor Tour

Who else is gearing up for an Arcade Fire show? My wife and I are hitting the Palace of Auburn Hills in Michigan on March 10th, and I am pumped. The fact that they ask the audience to dress in formal attire or a costume is hilarious. I can't wait to see what the crowd looks like. Not to mention that Here Comes the Night Time is my favorite song and on repeat right now.

Nice. I'm going to the 2nd to last show in Toronto on August 29 and I'm thinking of wearing what I wore at my brother's wedding last year plus a mask.
  • I'll be at the tour kickoff show next week in Loiusville. Also catching the show in August in Chicago. Have never seen these guys live....really pumped.
  • 1 week until the Pittsburgh show! I checked ticketmaster and there's so many tickets available that it's embarrassing. Oh well, I hope it does affect their energy because this is a bucketlist show for me!

I ended up getting tix through Groupon, $32 each, and they are second row in the lower bowl directly across from the stage. Not bad!

I'll be seeing them at Coachella. Curious to see how the production will differ from their arena shows to the festival. Caught a couple of their small shows in LA when the album came out so I'm looking forward to seeing a longer set.

I'll be getting tix to one of the MSG shows. I'm planning on getting tix the week before the show. I don't think they have the fan base to play three 20,000 people shows without their being some cheap tix outside. In 2010 MSG shows of theirs were free outside the venue. Of course this was before the Grammy win.

Show in Louisville was awesome last night! Not a huge crowd...the whole upper section was closed off. Still a great show... Can't wait to see them again later this year.

Good to hear that it was awesome though. Definitely looking forward to Monday. How about the openers, worth showing up for?

So far I've heard mixed things...the Groupon offer really makes me do a double take since that's usually a last ditch attempt to garner some sales.
  • jonsey30jonsey30 Posts: 1,004
Yeah, I would agree with that. A large stadium tour is a bit ambitious for them. But they converted me; I wouldn't have gone to see them headline prior to this album.

Although, It's not exactly normal to sell out everywhere you go like our favorite band Pearl Jam.

I know what you mean. They're probably popular in some US cities, but not all of them. In Montreal and Toronto, they're doing pretty good. They sold out Parc Jean Drapeau and they will play two shows in Toronto: first one is sold out, 2nd one still has a number of tickets/vip packages.

Fucking awesome show tonight! I will see them whenever they are around. The crowd was lame though, could barely hear them during a sing-along part of the Suburbs. And less than half of the crowd wore a costume. But the band is so good.

There are a TON of tickets available for the Houston/Woodlands show. I am pissed, i got presale tickets and there are still a bunch of seats better than mine available. I imagine the lawn will be closed. Interesting considering the singer and his brother are from the Woodlands/Conroe.

It should be a hell of a show regardless.

Which show are you going? For this North American leg, there's two supporting acts: Dan Deacon and Kid Koala. As for costumes, I'm unsure, but you can also wear a formal attire at the show. In fact, I'm thinking of wearing the same thing that I wore at my brother's wedding last year.

We showed up around 8:30, and Kid Koala was just finishing his set, just after 8:40 he was done. Arcade came on just before 9:00 I think.

The majority of people that were dressed up were wearing suits/tuxedos, a lot of sparkly skirts for the girls and Mardi Gras masks. I did see a couple of chickens, a bunny, a Spartan looking guy, a clown, a skeleton, lady in a wedding dress with light-up wings.

The best part was the human disco ball that walked out to music to start their set. He then stood on another stage and spun around during a couple of songs with lights hitting him.

Cool! I wonder if some fans will show up in their birthday suits! :))

the philly show is on St. Patty's day. Not going but i would dress up in green for the show.

There is an after party at Union Transfer, that would be kinda cool (and cheaper)

Yeah it sounds like they are struggling to sell tickets in a lot of cities. The nice part for me in Louisville was that we had 300 level tickets and they upgraded us to 100 level seats since the 300 level was closed off. I have floor tickets for one of the Chicago shows in August...can't wait for that.

  • Just saw the show in Pittsburgh and I absolutely loved it!! The crowd was pretty good considering it was small (upper level closed) many people were dancing and minimal cellphone use which is always a plus for me. Also many people dressed up which made the night feel special.

highlights: The Suburbs ->Ready to Start, sprawl ||, reflektor, wake up

so i saw them last night. I wasn't originally gonna go cause of the prices but found a cheap floor ticket on craigslist for $50. Pretty awesome show. First opener was DJ Koala Bear (or something like that) was ok. Dan Deacon than came on. He was pretty awesome. We had dance contests and all :) Arcade Fire came on around 8:50 or so and played for 2 hours. Nice variety of songs. Highlight for me was when the covered "Motownphilly" by Boyz II Men :))

Nice set list! Psyched to have a pair of pit tix to see them in Maine this summer. I think I'll dress up as a Mainiac.
