black as the next evenflow??? please.

I'm a fan just as all you are. And it just might be the adult juice in me right now. But I would like black to become a staple in every concert as evenflow is. I realize I'm being selfish because it's my fave song by far, but with the crowd interaction, along with the pure greatness of the song.... Why not? I've been to too many shows where I haven't heard it. And by god, I want to! Everytime! Am I wrong? Or just a fool? I don't even need the, we belong together at the end, although I would want it every time! Again, me being selfish. Sorry for the adult juice influence, we all have our moments.

I don't like Black as a staple, but I can understand why others would. So my vote would be "no" :)

  • I really enjoyed hearing Black a couple of times on the US tour last year. As long as Stone is playing the electric and keeps the acoustic down on Black, I am on board.

I love hearing black live. So it's fine with me. Seemed it was a pretty big staple in 2003, think it was played almost every show. Regardless, I'm on board. They play it most of the time, so I think it pretty much is. I'd never tire of hearing it live.

  • I vote no, I heard it at both my shows last year and that was one time too many. It's an ok song but not one of the ones I want to hear more than every once in a while.

Now that is a good idea I love that song just not sure I could deal with the emotional toll that comes with it for me.

Black has been played at 500 shows. I'm thinking it has gotten more than enough stage time. I've heard it at both of my shows. It really sounds like you got unlucky by missing it twice.

black is mixed in well as it is, along with RVM, porch, etc they tend to get a showing every 2 concerts which works well

I know it is definitely in the mix. But I had a string of 10-11 shows in a row with no black. I need to hear it at every show I go to. Again, this is me being selfish. But I can't go that many more shows without hearing it. Worcester is one and counting! But I did get my long road, so that made up for it. Sorry to be a whiny you know what!
  • There are only two songs that been played more than Black, I'd say it is already a bit of a staple.
Not having it 10 or 11 times in a row, is pretty bizarre.
I imagine that if I haddend seen it at for so long I would mind hearing it.
As it is I get the same feeling as when I hear the start of Better man or Elderly woman; Oh that's too bad this takes up space on the setlist, which won't be filled with other cooler songs. It's just a second, because straight after that I surrander myself to the music and it's more alright.
However there are tones of other songs I'd rather hear than Black.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.

If I go to one show this year then I want Black for sure. I can take or leave it after that but it's still an amazing song. I'm still waiting to hear gems like NAIS, Garden, Oceans, Indifference, Rats, In My Tree, Faithful.... the list could go on and on, but I get Black being a regular inclusion as with other songs as they draw the casual and newer fans in. Without these people PJ would need to scale down venue size considerably in many cities.
