    he was saving a place in line, he may or may not have partook of a joint that was being passed around, one minute he was in his lawn chair, the next minute my attention was diverted by a loud bang (backfire? gunshot?), then I heard a "thunk" (or maybe it was a plop) and when I turned around the little guy was rolling off the curb, into the path of a reddish PU with bluish white license plates. For some reason, I'm hazy on the sweater....not sure one way or another.
