You cannot flip your own work. Give up the whining guys. It's his work. He can and should sell it for whatever we wants. Flipping is when you purchase something then turn around and sell it for profit. He never bought any of it so he can't possibly be flipping. If you guys like he could price his stuff up to market to begin with and remove access to lots of people. The fact that he's selling now for more than original price is his prerogative as it's his work and reflects the current market. Don't be bitter because he's not doing some sort of lottery for cheap so you can have a chance at it.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

I'm going to try my luck on a riot act. Unfortunately, people are going to bid higher than normal solely because of who the seller is...

Reserve appears to be 250$... Fair ?

imo it's a bit high. I'd say 150-175ish is a bit more reasonable but that's just my opinion

I hate all these "flipping" comments bc I believe everyone at one point or another flips. Doesn't matter who you are, no one is going to sell something for face down the line. As long as you don't flip in the so-called grace period after an item sells, you won't be lynched here (or unless you have a bunch of friends).

While it's true you cant flip your own work (it's well deserved), you don't hoard 7 sealed riot acts unless you intend to flip/trade 'em later. Who knows? I guess there could be a chance he purchased all 7 on eBay last week and wants to get his money back.

I'd wish Brad K every success with these sales

He's an artist and his work is incredible, why shouldn't he sell his pieces for what they are worth?

I hope he makes a stack. Brad is a stand up guy and always a pleasure to talk to or deal with

Quite possible Brad was given them whilst he worked with the band. And forgot he had them.

Very possible...no judgement here. I hope he gets as much as he can out of all his sales. Brad is a good dude, and those posters for sale are some of PJ's best. Would've been cool if he offered a klausen doodle.

Why would someone buy 4 riot acts at approx $300 a go? If there plan is to flip later that's a tough sell...how much higher do they think riot act is going to apprciate especially given I'm sure within the next ten years we see a reissue at some point. Every time I sneeze there's a new 90's band reissue coming out. Maybe they're planning on realzing their dream of quadraphonic sound and playing all 4 at once?

Maybe someone is creating a Vinyl cartel and is going to horde every existing copy of Riot Act?
  • GratefulJamGratefulJam Posts: 1,803
My guess is someone with deep pockets "helped" brad out, perhaps someone associated with the band dropped a few grand for a good cause and wanted to remain unknown? just an odea.

perhaps as they weren't #1 and #2 the values suffered against the rest.

People were paying premiums it seems for the numbers and I would guess 101 and 102 wouldn't appeal to those people.

Not that I understand the appeal of the number at all

If I happened to score a #1 by chance, I'd think it was pretty cool, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.....
