The hats are $30. Nice hats too!!
Yea I had to buy one cuz I left my sunglasses at home cuz it was raining early on. I really didn't want to drop $30 on a hat But the sun is evil!
This is the third time i have seen Pearl Jam and it was by far the best!!! Besides the people who were not even watching and chatting during the start of the set, i loved every minute. The first time i have been so close ( in seating area for other concerts) and the atmosphere and enthusiasm (eventually) of everyone was fantastic. Sang myself hoarse and the energy from the stage was awesome!! During "Betterman" the guy next to us proposed to his girlfriend... pretty surreal moment but we all high fived and shook their hands( don't think he understands the true meaning of the song but hey it was a great moment). Looking forward to Eddie"s solo shows in a few weeks... Life is pretty good at the moment
I hope someone has sent a complaint to the Big Day Out people about the Like A Boss tickets. For $285 each you would expect something great. :-L

I love the fect that they played Pendulum at the start of the encore. I was kind of hoping for that to happen. It is too good a song to just use as an opener. And it offers the posibility of a really trippy encore.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
Arrived half way through the set of Beady Eye after seeing Mudhoney and grabbing a bite to eat. Still easy to get close to the stage was about eight rows behind in front of Mike. Beady Eye wasnt bad it but they looked so bored, someone even threw a shoe to Liam even that s didn't seem to bother him to much.
As soon as the first notes of Why go started it was 2 1/2 hours of high energy which seem to fly by so quickly but enjoyed every moment of it, the sound was great from where I was standing. Eddie seemed to struggle to find his words during his talking between songs and was slurring a bit, guess he already had finished a bottle before the show, it didn't affect his performance in any way though.
Mike is fantastic to watch he is giving his all and the energy coming from him is captivating. The weather turned out to be perfect it was truly a great night.
Did anyone have a problem with the sound at the Melbourne show? I read some comments on Facebook earlier that people were not happy with it.
I went to the Gold Coast show and managed to snag a spot on the barrier down past Stone and although the view was great, the sound left a lot to be desired. Mike's guitar was inaudible at times and was drowned out by Matt's drumming and Jeff's bass.
10 club could a message be somehow passed onto the band's sound technicians so it is better for the rest of the Australian shows?
Thanks.

I was on stones side right at front in front of the speakers. Mikes sound virtually wasnt there to the point that when he came over to do a solo it just looked like he was pretending to play. Did not hear a single solo and like most didnt want to lose my spot. But on reflection even that was a good experience. Of the 16 shows I've been to ive mostly naturally focused on ed or mike and only on the odd occasion been on stones side. It was nice to sit and just listen to stone do his thing lol.
Finally after 8 shows, got front row to Pearl Jam, something I've wanted since '95, but was there from the start, long day. Fantastic show. I get the same overwhelming feeling everytime I see them walk out at the start. Went by myself but met some great blokes who flew over from NZ paying a small fortune to do so. After being front for Soundgarden and a few deep for RHCP at the last 2 BDO we had no crowd surge on our side at all, maybe a more sedate crowd. Setting Forth, Corduroy and Dissadent were highlights for me. Other bands - thought bluejuice did a great job first up in morning since entire front row was pearl jam, the banter/abuse from Jake was probably deserved. Beady Eye were terrible, 20 years on Liam is still the most arrogant tool. Primus not my thing. Arcade Fire were great, would nearly pay to go see them as well. Sound was really good. Touched Ed on the shoulder and scored a pick from Mike. Poster from Rhys Cooper is awesome as well. Does anyone have tips to make my voice last longer than 5 songs??

Fantastic night with great people around me. I was right in front (mike's side) the sound was perfect. Like others said, the boys were in super mood This was only 2nd time that I have seen them live after gold coast, it's safe to say that I am hooked for life!

Crowd was definitely much larger here than in Auckland or the gold coast. Show was great, loved seeing low light. Only problem was there was a considerable amount of people that were not interested in the band who were just standing around bullshitting & having a good time - and that's all good, BUT I couldn't hear the music over them, particularly on the quiet-er songs like low light, pendulum, etc. That's the downside of the open space festival venue though, the bright side is that I could at least move around to find a better spot. So, here's a request: play louder in Sydney!!! :-)
Agree!! I got footage of some idiot "boys" (they looked pretty young) pulled out of the rail crowd dressed as women with faces painted red.. they clearly were not interested in the set, they seemed more interested in wrestling each other after being pulled out and set free on the side of the stage crowd area. However... awesome show.. too many favourite moments to mention. As always, PJ & EV did a spectacular job! It ended too quickly though! I could have spent many more hours there!!
Listening to this boot day, I cant say its my fave. The recording levels seem to be all up and down (hope its just not my CD copy). Makes for a frustrating listen from a loud level sound of Wasted Reprise straight into a more muted sounding Life Wasted.
Oh, and could they have muted out the dumbfuck who shouts out the "she once believed' line a few seconds before Ed!? Totally ruins the whole song!
