Going to see him at the Ryman next month. One of my bucket list shows.
You'll have a blast. My wife and I did 2 shows there last year's run. Great energy, great show, such a cool venue. He does mix up the setlists a bit more than during the rest of the tour, but I'd still vote for more variety. Only beef, and it's a small one.
^ He’ll yeah, have fun! I looked at that show but am going to pass. I am going to try for the Saginaw, MI show though.

I feel like I responded to this after the show. It was great. Got to see and hear my fave including Danko/Manuel. He did a song with the opening act. Great night all around.
Great show tonight! Band was tight. I was hoping they would play one of their covers of Nightswimming or Driver 8 by R.E.M., but unfortunately they didn’t.
Nice to be back at the Super 8, just chillin’. The Jason Isbell & 400 Unit show tonight was amazing. I like all of their songs but it was particularly special hearing Something More Than Free. They closed out the show with Decoration Day. It’s all good. He recommends the meatloaf.

I ended up going to the Isbell show at the Temple Theater in Saginaw, MI tonight. Another beautiful show in a beautiful theater. Highlights for me were Alabama Pines, Elephant, and If We Were Vampires. Not sure if I’ve mentioned how much I love the song “If We Were Vampires.” The line, “If we were vampires and death was a joke, We’d go out on the sidewalk and smoke”, gets me every fucking time. They closed the show with a bluegrass version of Tour of Duty and Decoration Day. Decoration day was played on a red Gibson guitar made in Kalamazoo and shipped to Sweden some 64 yrs. ago. Jason had found and purchased the guitar on a recent trip to Europe.

Great shots and stories from recent shows! He and Amanda were just announced as the RSD Ambassadors for this year and they are going to release an EP together for it!
Jason released a teaser video with studio footage yesterday, then around midnight released a new track “Death Wish” as well as the name of the new album, Weathervanes. Due June 9, 13 tracks

Awesome!!! Saw the teaser yesterday, but didn't know the other info. Thanks!
Song is great, ordered the LP and got tickets to see him at the Boulevardia Festival here in KC!! (only $35 per ticket...just a heads up that the price goes up next month). Pumped!
Agree with the above. Amazing insight into his recording process, writing, the Reunions album, and his life/marriage to Amanda. I had high expectations for this doc and it absolutely lived up
It was great. The passion he puts into each song and the honesty he allowed us to see about his life was amazing. A lot of times artists only show us the public outermost level of who they are, but Jason and Amanda let us see them in a way that showed the vulnerability and human side of them that we all have but rarely allow others to see. I guess it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise since many of his lyrics are very personal.
I was out of town all weekend, so I haven't had a chance to watch yet. Can't wait!
