Great! Another iconic Toronto location closes down and I'm sure more fucking Condo's will be going up in it's place :( I swear to God all Toronto is now is a sea of Condo's. Makes me sick!

    You would be correct, Mel!

But to be honest, I was never a huge fan of that venue. Except for being able to get some good eats across the street at Loblaws before a show or chill at Sugar Beach on the other corner, there isn't really anything redeeming about the place. Although, I admittedly have some good concert memories there too. Seeing Queens of the Stone Age, Audioslave and Nine Inch Nails there within just over a month's time in 2005 and having the entire venue chant my name at a Broken Social Scene show in January 2006. However, I haven't seen a show there since Bloc Party in March 2009, so maybe I should take in one last show there.

    It's Massey Hall or nothing.

Sure glad the band passed on Downsview Park.

    crazy....

i've seen a few shows there myself... most notable being that Audioslave show there in '05, and a KOL show there in '09 before they really broke huge....

condo's are the wave of the future man!

but gotta agree with beerbaron... there was 0 chance of PJ playing there... if they were going to hit a mid size venue in toronto we all know it was massey or bust....
Houston, Texas... Believe it or not, there are 7 million people here... must be a couple of fans who'd love to see you play.

And as much as I would love to see them @ massey, we all know that if that happened, half of us locals would not get tickets.

    well yea!

For the record, I'm not a local, and haven't been since 2009... but if they were playing at massey you can be damn sure I will get there one way or the other... still have some friends up there that can pull strings...

(that being said - no, I have not heard about any rumours/holds at any of the toronto venues).

Maybe they should serenade Toronto's Mayor, Rob "Crack Pipe" Ford, outside his widow of rehabilitation. They could make a stop in Chicago on their way to Toronto and fire off an emotional rendition of "Save You" for poor old Robbie. Then get him to admit that the crack alleviates how guilty he feels about lying with every breath he takes. Pearl Jam play Toronto and help us to feel better about our city again. The Stones gave us an emotional rescue during SARS. We could use a jolt from your Lightning Bolt to back to an Evenflow. [-O<

Yeah I'm well aware that there's a next to nothing chance that they would ever play there. Some pretty big name acts have played Kool Haus, though (I've seen a few). But this entire thread is predicated on rumours and hearsay. May as well have fun with it.
