I spin 85% of what i own. Theres only a few rare ones that i dont open. I trade and collect as well as listen so you need some items to get you your deals. The vast majority get spun to hell tho.
I actually only buy vinyl now for listening enjoyment and as an investment. If I had bough vinyl instead of CD's for all my music in the 90's I would be rollin' in the dough.

spinning some Sticky Stones last night...kind of freaked to spin old PJ records 1st because they are not mine and I may scratch them...do spin my xmas singles, vault and bolt...great when you still find a good record for a few bucks...getting harder to come by...went to a place that said all albums are 4 bucks. until I pulled one out and owner looked it up on ebay and said 30 bucks...also saw a DOORS messed up jacket and dirty vinyl asking 25 and a Beatles Sgnt Peps 35-same cruddy condition.
For those that keep it sealed, whats the point? If I buy a CD or download an album I open it and play it, whats so special about vinyl
I don't do it, but I imagine the point is that they consider it an investment.... which it is. But I imagine there is also a collectors' mentality for many who do this. Just like the folks who collect the star wars toys and never open the packages. They love the collection.... and also love how it goes up in value and can't bring themselves to ruin that aspect by opening them up.

Also, for someone who has grown up with CDs and digital downloads, how much difference would I hear in vinyl? I hear its a 'fuller' sound, but do you notice much difference these days with high quality downloads and top headphones?

Oh yes! A huge difference between digital and vinyl!!! I won't listen to digital music at home. Ever. It also sounds better than CDs, but the difference isn't as striking (I never listen to CDs either unless I have to, i.e. I can't get it on vinyl). Of course, the real sound quality difference is only facilitated by a good system.

And what would be a rough price for a good system? Im just moving house at the moment and weighing up if vinyl is something i want to add to my new place
If you find some good deals/sales (and maybe go second hand with the speakers), I think you can get a new system that will really do your vinyl justice for as little as $1200 - $1400 (or course, you could go up from there all the way to $100,000+ - I don't know how rich you are! lol!). That is for turntable (new), receiver (new), and speakers (smallers new ones or used primo ones). Or, if you have a place where you live that specializes in refurbished stereo equipment, you could get a REALLY amazing system for that much, or a very good one for maybe $800. Just make sure you deal with honest and knowledgable people if you decide to go second hand, and also keep in mind that it can be really hard to get parts/repairs with older equipment. I would personally go new if I could afford to. If you want to first hand, go to needledoctor.com to price turntables (just to get an idea of the price range... I just wouldn't go under $300 - $400 on a turntable if you're looking for quality on the lower price end, and be sure to upgrade the cartridge).

I can't really vote. I spin my vinyl a few days a week. I don't find time every single day but I usually spin vinyl while I'm studying or what not. The problem is I have all my vinyl in boxes. When I buy a place I want a big ikea vinyl shelf where I can pulled out records and play 'em. It seems like a chore right now to pull down a box dig out the vinyl I want an turn it on.
I think I'm up to 4 pretty full boxes of vinyl (1 of which is all pearl jam) and two boxes full of boxsets (one of which is pearl jam as well).. lol.
I don't really have any dupes. Aside from the vinyl reissues and a spare copy of vault 3.
