How can any Pearl Jam fan say that any Pearl Jam show wasn't any good. You my friends are not fans.I'll take any songs they want to play.I live in a backwoods spot in Va. and try to catch at least one show every tour.I'm always driving at least 4 to 6 hours to see them and it seems like I always drive back home that night and hit work the next morning.Everyone has been crying about the Va. Beach show as well.I thought it was great.Mansfield had to be great too, because it was a PJ show.I'm not even in the ten club anymore,my reasons being I feel all the poser fans are getting good tickets and selling them.I know they are because the tickets I had for Philadelphia in 2005 came from one of those posers. No I'm sorry for being harsh about that, its probably a little less than half of the ten club members that are fake. Most of you are the real deal.
For your comfort, and maybe in the spirit of commiseration, I am not now, nor have I ever been a Tenclub member. I have not conspired with a Tenclub member. My new puppy Lucy (just got her yesterday... so happy... a chiweenie) will not be allowed to consort with Tenclub members, and I hereby forsake communism and all forms of government which seek to undermine democracy or spoil the seeds from which this great country so rightfully blooms!!!!!!
I don't know what got into me. Sorry.
Good evening San Diego, I'm Ron Burgundy
And I'm Veronica Corningstone, Tits McGee is off tonight...
Yes... hartford is the worst venue by far I've ever seen a PJ show at. If Pearl Jam's only new england show was in Hartford ....I'm pretty sure I'd skip it. (Although when the time came I'd probably cave.)
No time to be void or save up on life...you've got to spend it all.
Seventy-nine shows , tonight'll be 80, and I've absolutely loved everyone. Being a touring fan since 2k has turned back the years for this now 49 year old PJ nutter. I Don't understand the nattering naybobs of negativism who inhabit the pit and hate on this or that set. Some sets , first nights in a venue for example, may include alot of catalog staples (Even Flow, GTF, Corduroy ,etc..) , but are never boring. I just make it a rule to catch every show of a multi-show stand , schedule permitting. That way, a great cross section of songs is guaranteed.

You spelled "mookie" wrong. Whoever "mookie vedder" is.
You spelled scammed wrong.
You used a wrong synonym in your last sentance. It should be "seen"
Yes maybe it was the worst, but your babbling cancels the significance of any opinion you had.[/quote
Forget about the spelling! The point of this thread is that Manfield I was a subpar show and that the Boston fans and Boston shows are not as cool as they are cracked up to be.
who cares whats on the set list man...just enjoy the mother fucking show and shut the trap.
Dude when you are laying out 150 for tickets, 100 for hotel, 200 on gas, and alot on food and drink, I think the set list matters the most. That is just ignorance talking!
This is just dumb. You should probably stay away from any future pj performances. They can't possibly entertain you if this show didn't. I don't know what you found wrong with it exept maybe that they could have played 2-3 more songs (but I think just about everyone there knew they were only going until 11pm). I firmly believe that you are entitled to your opinion, but I believe that I am too, and my opinion is that you are a donkey.
Mansfield 1 was an excellent show - the crowd was unbelievable and the setlist was just great. What's wrong with people...
i know. was it the seats you were seating in? did the guy/girl next to you bother you? something must of ruined your experience, cause there is no way that pearl jam set & energy sucked that night.
This is a joke right? I know at least thousand other people who would like to kick your ass for even suggesting that.
I agree. Mansfield 1 was awful..Definitely worst of tour and worst I had ever seen..THe worst pj show I had been to previously was hartford 06, but mansfield 2008 took the cake..Out of 18 it is now officially the worst and the crowd was lame. It sucks when you lay out a 1000.00 to travel and see a band and the setlist blows...Va beach was better than mansfield and va beach was just an average show. I chose to go to Boston because all I heard was what a great place it is for pj and I was let down..There was nothing special about it...Never again!

Perhaps you should interest yourself in another band. You really don't sound like a fan at all. What are you even doing on this board? I wish they would kick you off. You don't belong here.
Watch out for falling houses. I'm sure there's one aimed at you. Might want to change your shoes.

The crowd was great - one of the best I have been part of.
But overall, Mansfield 1 wasn't that great in my opinion. Of all the shows i went to this year, I would probably rank it above only DC and West Palm.
The setlist was average at best. Maybe the problem was that my expectations were too high
I was at the Mansfield shows in '03 and at the Boston shows in '06. I didn't think it was possible but each show was better than the last. I went to see them in London last year and had HUGE expectations. The show was excellent but didn't hold a candle to the 2 '06 Boston shows. I went into these Manfield shows tellnig myself they didn't stand a chance of matching up with the last go around. I was right, but these 2 shows a week ago were still amazing. I think the trick is to not go into any show expecting some ideal set list from your mind's eye. Go into it expecting to have a great time and you will.
You can't account for some dipshit ruining your good time. That's out of your control. I had this guy in front of me at Hartford in '06 who made hand gestures to each and every word of every song. It was completely annoying, but I still had a good time. I mean it wasn't like the guy took a leak on us or puked. That would really suck and maybe ruin the night. But that aside, anyone compaining about a setlist ruining the show for them probably needs to stop going. The more I think back to both of these past Mansfield shows and look at the setlists again, the more I realize just how great they were.
Ok I'm tired of hearing about how awesome this crowd was. Yes the 10c crowd looked phenomenal, but the overall crowd sucked. The worst crowd outside the pavilion I have ever seen. Hartford lawn crowd blew the shit out of this one. Really takes away from a PJ experience when everyones standing around with their arms folded.
I think it depended on where you watched the show from during MAN 1. Some people had a great time and the crowd near them was loaded with energy, and some were apparently in a dead section. I was in Hartford the night prior so it was a bit of a letdown, energy wise, but fuck, its Pearl Jam.
At the end of the day you got to see and hear Pearl Jam play live in front of you, LOUDLY.
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.
I'm in the minority here, but I think this show was better than Hartford. Of course, my brutal "limited view" seats in Hartford definitely tainted the experience, but I compared the setlists again and decided I loved every song they played at Mansfield 1. The only problem was that it just sort of stopped at 11pm. If they had broken curfew to play Porch and Indifference then this could have been a monumental show. As it was, the show was fantastic.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

Man... MANSFIELD 1 catching some serious shit on here right now!
Def one of the weaker shows of the tour... most of that is based on length tho... I mean I went to the last 5 and it was the weakest out of those... but it did have a great start and you really cant complain about the encores either... the DAMN curfew and the fact that eddie was pissed bout the fan kind of hurt it... I sat 10th row center... Crowd was very good where I was...
That place and the fricken venue blows... the 2nd show was amazing... if they could have played as long as they wanted it would have been one of their best ever I think...

I talked to a few others who had nightmare crowd experiences that night. Some jerkoff was throwing lit cigerettes and public urination.
the crowd around me was pretty cool.
of admission for me.
Those 2 songs sounded amazing.
I'll admit the set list was not that great.
The crowd was fantastic though.
