How many people of the first 20 rows were actually from Ohio? A friend of mine went and said all the people around him were from other states as far as florida. Some were following them for 3-4 shows. I know this will get me blasted but hey, even God got blasted for speaking his mind. Pearl Jam has been blasted for speaking their mind etc. The fan club NEEDS to limit shows, not tickets. They use an outdated number system for basically season seats. The same people in the same rows year after year. Yes, its great if you are in the front, but its not fair. If you limited to even 2 shows, you might actually have people from THAT state in the first few rows. The shows are going to sell out no matter what. Then you could cap seats if you want to like 3-4 seats. Bring your friends, family. Go ahead blast away, its easy to do. I hope some club member presents this to the club Pres. and just think about it for next time. Everybody fears change in the beginning. God bless you......don't ignore the rusted signs people....

I believe a home town rule should be added. I think that would take care of stuff. I know "home town" is vague, but along those lines.

I can agree. I went to the Pittsburgh show, and a lot of the people there were from Ohio, NY, or Wash. DC.

I think there should be a hometown rule put in place, so that the hometowners get priority over the people that have the means (money) to travel all over the damn place and take up the good seats from the people that only get to see them once, if their lucky, in their respective hometown.

    here we go again...
  • so someone who lives somewhere where PJ rarely plays gets shafted everytime they travel to see a show?

I think there was a time when the fan club limited each person to 1 show per tour for fan club tickets. So, I only attended 1 show per tour. I didn't think I had a chance through ticketmaster. Now, that there's not a limit I go to more than 1 per tour. If there was a 2 ticket limit I would go to 2. Good seats definitely are perks for long term membership.

A lot of people would agree with you.. Cap the front-row tickets to the home-town show, then give them more modest seats for when they invade other peoples towns.. Most of these fans are the ones who bitch about set-lists..and how they didn't play "Dirty Frank" or some other bad PJ song..You know, so they can brag about hearing it... I hate these people. But then there are those who go to 10 shows a tour who are cool...So, there lies the argument.

I'll never be anywhere near the band so I could care less, but IMO they should do this:

they seem to be playing venues back to back a lot. Make one show by seniority and the other be first come first serve. Everyone wins & we get more shows like Grand Rapids
Jones Beach II (2000), Holmdel (2003), Camden I, East Rutherford II, Gorge I, Gorge II (2006), MSG I, Boston II (2008), Spectrum II, Spectrum III, Spectrum IV (2009), MSG I, MSG II (2010), Prague (2012), Philly I (2013), Philly I, Philly II, Fenway I (2016), Fenway I (2018), MSG (2022), MSG I, Fenway 1 (2024)

No it does not, the argument rages.. There is some dick on the Pitts thread who was the only person complaining about the show because it was full of songs he had heard in 9 other cities...He was "Not into the show" because he is a spoiled fuck...

I have to say one of the best parts of this fan club seating is seeing the same people. I hope to see them again, and maybe strike up a conversation next time if I haven't already. There really is a feeling of comraderie between the fans that may only see the same other fans at concerts basically because they live in different towns.

  • Ok you want an Idea. How about the 1st three rows for Hometown fans but still done by seniority of 10 club #. My other Idea is to put anyone who bought 10 club tickets into a lottery for the first 3 rows then seniority after that. You have to look at it this way the people who are in the first few rows have been paying dues to the 10 club for how long? Those people who decide to travel to shows should not be punished. You were in the building were you not? You did get to see Pearl Jam did you not? I have been as close as row 2 and as far back as my back against the wall the last row in the arena. I think people need to relax and just enjoy the show! Shows are supposed to be fun don't add stress for others who run the club by whining about it.
Yellow Ledbetter is my least favorite song. Because as soon as you hear the first note you know it is time to say goodbye.

I wouldn't say best customers but you have to say they are a dedicated group to make all those shows. I know not everybody is in that situation. You can only do so much, but dont punish those who try to hit all the shows that they can.

hometown will NOT work. What is hometown? Suburbs? Outskirts? City Proper? By Zip Code? Way too confusing

that's true. but i don't think you need to 'punish' anybody, just allow others also to enjoy the experience up front.

me, personally i'm happy just being at the shows and don't think too much about being up front because i know it will never happen

I have no complaints about the way that the 10C handles the tickets. That being said, I could have bought seats from TM that were almost as good.

Heck - I even pulled some up on TM 4 days before the show that were only 2 sections to my left and 5 rows higher.

I was in 112, Row J and my number is 256xxx

This place is so predictable sometimes... 2nd leg starts up and ALL the crybabies come out of the woodwork complaining about their seats. No matter what, people are gonna whine.

They used to limit shows for each tour. And people pissed and moaned. Guess what? They lifted the restriction so now the people who said, "My $15 a year should allow me to go to as many shows as I want to... only one show is bullshit... it needs to be about what works for ME... blah blah blah..." were now giddy with joy about becoming a Deadhead and following them around. Fantastic... I've got no problem with that.

NOW everyone gets mad because, holy shit, people actually go to more than one show and, hold on 'cause you'll NEVER believe this one, these people have BETTER 10C NUMBERS than the complainers. So these dirty hippie PJ followers ;) are taking seats that the whiners have a God-given right to. THOSE ARE MY SEATS!!!!

Bottom line is this: there isn't a single person here complaining that didn't know the drill coming in. Allocation is based on seniority. There's always going to be someone at a show with a better number (and better tickets) than you have. Enjoy the show and quit fucking crying about something you have no control over. Or you can save your $20 next year and roll the dice through Ticketmaster from now on. Make the choice.

yes the system has been in place for like ever and it seems that the newer fans to the club are the ones making all the noise or should i say waves, but this is the first time i really have heard so many complaints as if the band owes the complainers something i gave up going to other shows so i would not have to deal with ticket monsters . try and score tickets to u2 allmost impossible unless you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a decent seat.so thanks to 10c keep the system like it is.

I'd have to agree that SOME but not ALL of these spoiled Ten Clubbers take it for granted. The best idea I recall is the every 4th set of tickets is randomly given to higher numbers. I can't complain like most of the bitchers on this board. This band is great and I'm happy to be in the building!!

The only thing I guess is that if you're a 20 year old die-hard fan, then you never had the opportunity to be in 10 club from the beginning. It would be cool for people like that to get a chance at the front now and again...

  • Ahhh yes. Thread number 4598 concerning Ten Club tickets. Who gives a shit where people are from or how many shows they attend? Well, obviously some of you people do I just understand why. It's as if joining the Ten Club means that you can bitch about anything and everything concerning the band. Just be happy that you're in the building.

Im not 10c, but i will be next week.

Ive been a huge fan of pearl jam for over 10 years and i rock out just as hard as any of you do and appriciate the shows just as much as any of you.. Meanwhile, i was first in line at 10am at ticketmaster, bought my tickets at 10:01am and i got B16 row F, where i could barely make out who was who on stage at the pittsburgh show.

Hometown rule would be cool. And hometown 10c senority rule would be cool. This is just my opinion.

  • What the original poster neglected to realize is that for people from Florida (as he mentioned) that was their "hometown" show as it was the closest to their home.

Nonetheless, I came from Boston and had second row. Took a big chug off the wine bottle during Crazy Mary. Took about 6 shits in my hotel over the weekend and bounced out of there. Thanks Cincy! The last one I left a floater. See you next tour!

But the problem lies in how do you determine hometown? Say I live in Detroit now but I just moved here 3 years ago and Boston is my "hometown"? If I live in central NJ and they play in Philly and NYC (but nowhere in Jersey itself), how do you determine which show is your home show (they're the same distance away? Way too many variables, IMO. Leave the system how it is.

You know about 13 years ago I was in the last row of the Seattle Center Arena seeing one of my favorite all time concerts, PJ of course. This is still in my top 3 shows ever. I did wish I could see their faces on stage but nonetheless that show has stuck with me to this day and is a big reason I still come out to the shows.

After I got my tix I was bummed as to where I was sitting and I heard somewhere that fan club members get ticket priority. Back then it was just being able to buy them without going through ticketbastard and it was the day after that show when I sent in my $ for my membership. My only regret? Not joining after I bought TEN two years prior. I thought I should the first time I heard the disc but decided I didn't want to be a fan clubber. Stupid me. Even so I have a 5 digit number and get great seats every show I go to. Why? Because I was fortunate enough to join all those years ago and renew year after year. My way of thanking the band is staying in the fan club, buying all their music and other shit they sell, and going to every show I can. If you were not lucky enough to join early on and get a low number and access to up close seats, that really sucks. Really it does, but there are only a few seats down in front. What better way to reward the fans that have been there since the early days and are still here today than to have them up front? And who cares who you are sitting next to at a show or where they come from as long as they are enjoying the experience right along with you?

Keep it how it is 10c, you guys fucking rock. Remember we are all here for the music, it is not a contest to see who can get front row. I have only been front row one time and that was at a GA show at the Key. Those of you that always get first two rows, more power to ya. I'll be behind you rockin out right along with you. Just like the people in the back of the arena and the sides, etc. Just go and enjoy the music and the experience of seeing our favorite band play our favorite music live and in person.

    Just my 2cents.
I will hold the candle till it burns up my arm
Oh, I'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired
I will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind
