An 8th grade student of mine just went through 11 hours of surgery yesterday to remove a tumor. He's an amazing kid that loves playing bass and worships flea from the rhcp. I was just wondering if anybody had a show used pick they would be willing to part with or anything else cool from the rhcp. I'd like to give it to him when he returns to school in a few months. please shoot me a pm if you do. Thanks.

Mike

As many times as I've seen RHCP, I don't think I've ever seen Flea use a pick. I could be wrong though. Might have a few things I could send you so let me take a look and I'll PM you.

I might have a set list copy from the 2006 East Rutherford show. I'll see if I still have it kicking around tonight. It's just a piece of paper, though. I suppose you could fold it into a pick....

I would do a ton of research with the seller but this could work.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/FLEAs-Bass-String-Piece-From-Red-Hot-Chili-Peppers-Club-Nokia-Performance-/161134170171?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item258458503b

Ive seen other strings go for more but I think they included autographs as well. If you can get some sort of COA or assurance its genuine we might have a winner.

Best of luck and awesome gesture  !

    Tweet Flea directly - @flea333 - worth a try. :)
  • I don't think he uses one. That's why he used to have to superglue the hole in his thumb back in the day to play shows. That guy is one of the best of all time.

This is legit. Silverlake Conservatory of Music is one of Flea's biggest causes and he serves on the board. Here's a link to the site (if you look at the list of board members flea is on there): http://silverlakeconservatory.com/

I've bought RHCP stuff from this seller before and was very happy.

ok sweet I'll order it right away. thanks everyone!

follow up question...this kid is going to be in cast from the hip down for 6 weeks and obviously won't be able to walk. I was wondering if anybody could make me some copies of some live rhcp. (do they have bootlegs like pj?) I would cover the cost of the cd's and shipping. If anybody could help please let me know. thanks again you guys!

  • I worked RHCP twice and was told he doesn't use a pick. He tapes his finger tips.

There's other picks by them. Just not signature series (fleas). I know a lot of bass picks are usually larger in size or thicker than normal. I guess Ament likes the traditional ones.

I have an orange pick of their's that says 'I'm with you' if you wanna say it was his, you can have it if you want it just pm me. Hope this helps. Good luck

They put out recordings of most of their I'm With You tour.

I've got one of the Coachella recordings I can send you along with their Roxy show, which was a rip from the Fuse TV broadcast. I can ask a friend if he has any other recordings.

Unfortunately no. He s back in the hospital for further tests. He s dropped a lot of weight....on the positive side I found out yesterday from his band teacher that he was floored by the gift. He was actually speechless. After a few seconds he was talking a mile a minute because he was do damn excited. "wait, so anthony kiedis could have used this pick??!!! and these are actually recordings of live shows??!!!
So to all of you who helped out, thanks again ! I m glad we put a smile on his face for a little bit.

My friend you ve done more than enough. I don't know if you saw my other thread on rhcp autographs... Teachers in my school are going to donate what they can to attempt to purchase An autographed guitar by the rhcp. Hopefully the signatures are real.
