I got a bet placed on which flavor he drinks.HesCalledDyer said:Was it Charlottesville he actually said on the mic that one of the bottles was Gatorade? When he was giving the kids their first taste of wine? It was one of the shows I went to in '13 or '14, I just don't remember which.

I would find it quite odd if he actually puts something other than wine in a wine bottle to somehow "keep up appearances". that would be lame-o. just drink what you want to drink. he shouldn't care what others think. if in fact it's true.
and no, we don't know ed. we don't know his personal life. and we shouldn't unless he wants us to. even then, I wouldn't really want to anyway. I don't know him personally. if he gets loaded at a show during their 10 annual dates, then so be it. none of our business.By The Time They Figure Out What Went Wrong, We'll Be Sitting On A Beach, Earning Twenty Percent.0 -
I definaltey don't think he puts gatorade in his wine bottles. If so, I'd like to see some kind of reference about it. If he drank gatorade, he'd just use water bottles or other non marked bottles I'd guess. Why pour it into wine bottles? He drinks a lot of wine during the tour only most likely. Id have to think that is true in more recent times like after 40 since we all know drinking a lot causes health problems as it did for me. I was just stupid and didnt care though. Ed is a smart guy.#30 coming up in Chicago at Wrigley Field in August 20150

No, he shouldn't. He does do it, I saw him pouring not-wine out of a wine bottle all down his face and the front of his shirt from only a few feet away. I kind of figure he just likes to drink shit out of wine bottles, lol. Fine with me.HughFreakingDillon said:I would find it quite odd if he actually puts something other than wine in a wine bottle to somehow "keep up appearances". that would be lame-o. just drink what you want to drink. he shouldn't care what others think. if in fact it's true.

He usually drinks Barolo, or at least he did a lot of the last couple tours and he says it's his favourite. As a Sommelier, I always seem to try to see what he's drinking whenever I'm close enough to the stage haha. He also used to drink Siduri Pinot Noir from California. I visited them once and they said they used to ship Eddie unlabeled bottles that he would drink on stage. But lately it's been various Barolosmcgruff10 said:What kind of wine does Ed drink? Pinot noir?
i've never had a barolo since they are pretty pricey. i might get one since they occasionally go on sale on wtso.
Barolos are great, but they're pretty intense to have without food. They're the most acidic and tannic wines out there, so I was really surprised that was what Eddie was drinking on stage!
After the show in Berlin last summer I ALMOST got the bottle Eddie was drinking out of and left on stage. Stayed around and convinced a young stage guy to grab it for me and was walking towards me with it when his boss took it from him and said I couldn't have it. I was heartbroken as it would have been an awesome bottle to add to my wall of special bottles!1998: Vancouver 7/19

Does Calgary have any vineyards in the area or due to the climate so you specialize in ice wines?I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0 -
Haha no wines in Calgary, it's far too cold here to even make ice wine. There's an area about 3 hours NE of Seattle that grows good wines though, and also an area just north of Buffalo that does as well. I mainly visit Oregon/California to tour though. And 2014 was great because I got to wine tour in Europe for a couple months and then follow PJ around a bit right after that.mcgruff10 said:

Barolo is not cheap though. Probably won't find a bottle for under $30 USD. If you want to taste something similar to what he drinks though, but a bit more inexpensive, you can go to a wine store and ask for some "Langhe Nebbiolo" that isn't right in Barolo and can probably get that for $20-$25 a bottle. Same grape and region as Eddie's Barolos, just not quite as high quality. His probably cost around $60-80/bottle USD.mcgruff10 said:

I ve been to the area above buffalo and must say the wine was awesome. Niagra on the lake was the name of the town and it was situated around a heck of a lot of vineyards!Deamon said:

For a cheap and still good bottle of Nebbiolo wine head to a Trader Joe's. My local one in MN has 4 different bottles all from the same producer. I think the range is from $10-$20 a bottle. They have a Barbaresco for $10 and I think the reserve is $15 and they have a Barolo for I think $20 and the reserve is little more. Idk can't really remember only ever buy the $10 Barbaresco it's better than it should be, just let it breath a bit.
Here is a couple reviews from reverse wine snob.
