Wash Dc Itinerary

Ok, heres the plan:

7:00am- Wake up and do the bathroom thing ( shower, teeth, #1, #2 etc..)

7:45am- Call friends to confirm meetup at my house promptly and precisely with no delays by no later than 8:30 am

8:30 am - Begin loading car with concert/ show nessecities ( ex. weed, cooler with beer, water, and soda, travel packed food / snacks, ) Gas, tire pressure, and all engine levels checked and verified with consumer code prior to vacating premises.

9:00am- Rolling on 95 south toward Baltimore / DC area with nothing ahead of us but open road . ( by the way from this point forward a cold beer does NOT leave my hand until entering the venue unless otherwise prompted by flashing blue and red lights or a badge presents itself )

12:30pm- Enter DC area, find immediate " all day/night " parking somewhere close or inside of the venue

1:00pm - Based on research done prior to departure, walk or cab it to the lunch spot of choice and enjoy a relaxed, bistro or picnic style luncheon in DC fashion with friends...GOOD TIMES!!

2:00pm- Explore Dc area and familiarize ourselves with some some of DC's history and sights while maybe doing a little shopping and sightseeing, all the while forgetting about whats happening in your life, any problems you are having and pretending you are 21 again.

3:00pm- Head back closer to the venue, drop off any unwanted items and converse with each other about which local happy hour to attend , possibly the brewpub that i have heard so much about on this forum .

5:00pm - Head over to the Pearl jam pre show fundraiser at grand slam inside of the hyatt hotel 3 blocks from the venue. Give our donations to the fundraiser and hang out and meet-up with fellow jammers. ( try not to be totally smashed at this point , but if we stick to the beer we should be OK )

7:00pm- Head over to the Verison Center and catch the opening band , and get that 2008 POSTER OF THE YEAR PART DEUX, hopefully Klausen does this poster again, but the 06 will be hard to top.

9:00pm- Pearl jam takes the stage , NUFF SAID!!! Please Play BREATH!!!!!!

No drinking and driving for me , I think i was too pumped up yesterday when I made the itinerary. And , Nickelback? Dude, if you bring that in my car I will have to find someone else to ride shotgun......lol...

Haha, on the serious tip, can you conveniently forget to bring Riot Act for this road trip? I might need some Help Help to Get Right if I have to listen to that entire album this time.

HUH, forget riot act? That was going to be the one I popped in first!! This road trip is going to be AWESOME!!! What do you think about seeing some sights while were there? Washington Monument? Lincoln Memorial? etc....let me know....Anyone else wanna come?

I have no interest in the opening band. Will probably get there around 3, pick the tickets and go eat lunch and drink up and hit the seats (hopefully 3rd row) around 8:30.

Please no Riot Act. For the good of humanity, let's use that as a coaster instead. I like songs like Can't Keep, LBC, I Am Mine, TMW, 1/2 Full, Arc, All or None, but listening to that album from start to finish makes my ears bleed.

And you're kind enough to give me your spare ticket, so whatever sights you want to check out are fine with me. My one and only request is no Riot Act.

mmmmmm I just made some bangin' seafood creole.....mmmhhhmmmm. OK, my roommate may be coming with us , but I told him that this train is leaving EARLY so if he wants to tag along thats fine, but the bus leaves at 8:45 at the latest. Good thing Im driving...lol.....I am most DEFINATELY bringing me some riot act fool, but I promise we wont pop it in until weve spun VS and YIELD at least a couple of times. Does the itinerary need to be tweaked? Im open to sugestions about the sights and stuff. I looked and there are a lot of sights within a couple miles of the venue and that brew pub place sounds cool for a happy hour kind of thing. Your my wingman so anything you wanna do speak up!!

Driving in from jersey gunna leave around 730 am. Parking at the red roof inn and taking the metro over to Nationals Park and checking out the stadium and the game at 1. Drinking some beers at the porch in center field. LEaving the game going back to the hotel and drinking some beers/and or wine. finding a bar to go to. gunna go through the verizon center at about 830. see pearl jam at 9. awesome

how far is nationals park from the verizon center? anyone? im trying to mapquest it , but it doesnt seem to know where nats park is located....please help...

I plan on leaving Philly around 10:30, arriving in DC around 1:30. Checking in at our hotel, and then touring the town for a bit before finding a good watering hole to get ready for the show. I'm also planning on seeing more of the town on Monday before making the trip back up North.

If you take metro rail nationals park and verizon center are both on the green line, like four stops from each other. Nationals Park is located at the navy yard stop. driving would probably 15-20 min depending on traffic. but your best bet would be metro

Any parking lot at all for tailgating in at the Verizon Center? I've been spoiled by having that in the Midwest shows. I'll be going to DC and MSG I & II.

definitely no tailgating. verizon is dead center of DC. plenty of nearby food and bars though

Well i plan on getting to the arena around 230-3. Find a place to eat more then likely fuddruckers down the street. Since i cant do much, i cant drink since im only 19, and cant smoke pot or any other subtances because i need to get a job. Well anyway after that gonna wait to pick up my PJ ticket from the ten club member who is nice enough to sell me a ticket. Is there any thing going on before the show or anyone that wants to hangout or watever since ill be by myself.

Yeah, check out RFD up the street if you like beer. lots of beer on tap. If you want something a little more upscale, try PS7 on I street like 2 blocks away. They have some pretty neat cocktails. Or Fado is an irish pub right next to RFD.

Just picked up ok seats off of Stub Hub for less than they cost through ticketmaster (missed the Ten Club presale--hadn't been keeping up and the e-mail went to my spam folder and I didn't' find it until after the date).

Just a 30 minute metro ride to the verizon center for me, so I'll just be catching on work and heading down a bit before the show. May leave a little early and grab a beer at the Chophouse down the street (they do a great Oatmeal Stout) or may just try to show up around 8. RFD's has a much better selection of course though, since the Chophouse just has their own beer and some standard crap in bottles.
