    I like Backspacer but i can almost agree with this.  It was just still a previous era for the band.  More immediate.

    I walked 5 miles in sleet and freezing rain to buy this CD. It was my freshman year in college and freshman weren't allowed to have cars on campus. So off on foot I went...

    Edit: Apparently I already made this comment in 2014 on Riot Act's birthday.

    Riot Act will always be my second favorite album, after my first which is (unsurprisingly) my username.
    I got Riot Act tattoos for my 18th birthday last year because I wanted my first Pearl Jam tattoo to be symbolic of the post-9/11 era of the band that I grew up with, as opposed to the stickman that a lot of older fans have.

    This album is also super nostalgic for me because it reminds me of the long summer afternoon drives on i-70 that I’d take every weekend to see my sister who lived a few hours away. For some reason this record is just perfect for a long interstate trip. Maybe it’s the yellow hues on the cover?

    Certain albums I associate with a place and a time. This one I remember well.  I was out running at night with my armband radio, listening to two Vancouver DJs as they built up the drama, before announcing that "Riot Act" would be the name of the album. I think it is probably the coolest album title in their catalog.

    This album gets better with age. The lyrics are timely for today. If the band released the exact record now, i think it would have fared better being further from a post 911 landscape.

    Spun it the other night, still a personal favourite. All Or None is a criminally underrated album closer.

    Oddly enough, the album that got me started w/ them as a hardcore fan in 2002. I loved 'I Am Mine' after hearing it on WBCN in Boston (one of three rock stations, all of which no longer exist). 17 shows and 19 years later! It's a perfect Fall/Winter mood album.
