My Sevens and Blue DMB Live Trax for Your Benny

I did not buy Sevens to flip and intend to open and spin it repeatedly as soon as I get it. However, if someone is seriously willing to trade a Benny for Sevens (as Tinz suggested in a previous post) I'm your man. I don't even care if you've drooled all over the cover, as I will probaby do the same. Thanks and sorry to those who missed out yesterday. I agree the sale probably could have been handled better, although absent additional pressings the same number of folks would be pissed off. Hope to see you in Spokane.

Updated: I'll throw in my numbered, blue, Dave Matthews Live Trax Vol I on vinyl as well.

Benny is worth more than the sevens.... Benny is nine years old and rarer than sevens... i would never give up a benny for this new release. Just my opinion

For the record, I totally agree with Pro. Not necessarily based on the date of the releases, but more on the fact that you can buy LB on vinyl, albeit in a different size. But to each is own.

I like your view on this too :D

I'm certainly down for negotiating. Never would have dreamed this was a possible deal until Tinz mentioned that someone was considering it. Sounds batshit crazy to me.

You never know. Maybe some lucky bastard has two Bennys sitting around collecting dust. Or maybe those folks who frame records think Sevens is more visually appealing. Or maybe I'm wasting my time. Anyways, figured it was worth a shot. Interesting "debate" if nothing else. Prices on the by are comparable and who knows how many sevens are actually being pressed.

I'll toss in my sealed vault 3 with my Sevens for an opportunity to own a Benny and spin the shit out of. Was top 3 show I ever had the pleasure of being at.

Totally crazy. Although I read some speculation that 1,000 copies of Sevens were pressed and i thought there were more like 2,000 Bennys.

I am not happy about it either and shaming me is acceptable. I bought a new set of BA A100 speakers just for LB and Vault 3, got home to find the whole left channel of my amp blown. Attempted two speakers out the right side and it was a no go.

On a serious note though, Ill trade both of them for Benny :D

Eventually I am going to buy a jukebox, I have started amassing lots of 7, Sevens will surely be put in and spun when the time comes.

I'm guessing Slinger will throw in his amp too if anyone has a Benny. 8-) Too soon? Sorry couldn't resist. Jukebox is a cool idea. Doubt my wife would go for that.

Yeah I got this note a day after I paid for the Seven box set. i should also state that I paid for it roughly 30 mins before it was listed as sold out.

"Thank you for your most recent order with Ten Club LLC. Our records indicate that one or more of the items you selected were not in stock at the time that your order was placed. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause you."

Qty Product Code - Product Name Status
    - LIGHTNING BOLT SEVENS BOX SET backordered (1)

Your order will be reviewed and we will either process the order with stock on hand or Void and Refund your order if it is an item we no longer carry.

    Awesome hey?

Looks like the sold auctions at fleaBay have settled, is Sevens enough to obtain Ben?

I'm at the point that in the New Year I just may purchase Benny.

Don't disagree with your valuation at this point, but what makes you think Benny is rarer? I would actually guess Sevens is though neither of us has any real information to base that on. What? There's a couple thousand Bennys? Do you really think they sold that many Sevens in a 3 hour or so period? The site never crashed. so that's one indication the site wasn't flooded by 10c standards (which is to say no more than 15 people at once  ).

Funny thing is, everyone says how great the Vault 3 sale was (agreed) and I think Tim told someone that asked him that there was about 3K of those pressed. So even with all the time given, not really a much bigger pressing than Benny (in terms of numbers not %).

What ultimately drives value is how bad folks want something AND how willing folks who have it are willing to let it go. And that takes time. Yes, there are some initial folks that buy to sell. But after that ends, the real value begins to reveal itself. And if Sevens is in fact rarer - who knows?
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.

Hope you are right. I'm not a value guy. Just a guy who wants to hear Benny on vinyl. So whatever the value, I'd trade my Sevens for a Benny. But not holding out much hope. Especially considering my Sevens will be open as soon as I get it. But a man can dream.

  • I just wanted to further comment on the statement made by nadahombre - I think that the LB 7's was handled rather poorly, now I actually sent an e-mail to 10c in an attempt to find out if there would be another chance to purchase LB7's - After all, if you look at the listing it is referred to as a PRESALE ...

Within 10 minutes of it no longer being available online I discovered a listing for the Lightning Bolt “Sevens” collection [I'm sure there's more now] with a Price tag of $400 ... http://goo.gl/7ofSEn

Now, I want it to be understood that I am fully aware that both 10c & Pearl Jam have absolutely ZERO control over what someone does once they've paid for an item. However, with that said I am a tad bit discouraged considering that the Band released this package for the fans who truly appreciate their music and what they've accomplished over their fantastic career, in my personal opinion this wasn't done in order to allow someone to turn a profit.

This is just my 2 Cents & I'd like to hear what others think ...

Sevens is settling in right now at $550 on ebay. It may get higher or lower upon actual physical release. Vault # 3 is $225ish. Benny's could be had from anywhere between $800 and $1200. So in theory the two mentioned vinyls could be sold and used to get a Benny with some luck.
