I am sure lots of countries and people will be sending aid ... countries and people shouldn't need to publicize their help ... after all it should be the human thing to do. I just wonder if the world has enough money to help countries in the future, it seems there are more and more crippling storms and disasters than ever before.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... I don't believe anything the government tells me ... George Carlin

Probably the same as always, but with modern technology and communication, you just hear about all of them now..
back in the day, travelers would just have to come back with stories.. months, even years after the fact.. if it allNone are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe that they are free.

If you knew anything at all about U.S-Philippine relations then it wouldn't come as such a surprise to you that a U.S military base in Okinawa has sent 80 marines down there to help with logistics, and that a base in Manila has sent relief supplies from one end of the archipelago to the other.
Meanwhile, 'the EU has announced it will commit €3m for immediate emergency relief in the worst affected areas of the Philippines, and will coordinate relief operations with national and local authorities and humanitarian partners. The US has also reportedly set aside $100,000 for relief supplies and tonight sent some 80 marines from Okinawa to Manila in order to help the Philippines army with logistics.' http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/n ... 1f62c72d91
And Britain has agreed to donate an initial £6m in aid.
$100,000? What's that? A days wages for Obama?
As for 'haters', what do you mean? Are you referring to those of us who criticize the U.S government and it's foreign policies? Does that mean that we hate America in your well-thought-out scheme of things?
Oh, and I'm not from China. Keep up the good work!Post edited by Byrnzie on0 -

I was hoping when I read the title that this thread would be poking fun at arrogant patriotic nonsense, but unfortunately it just IS arrogant patriotic nonsense. I mean why would a person just assume because they read an article about America sending help that they are the only country doing this? What kind of breathtakingly lazy and self-righteous bullshit is that?
I guess I should not be surprised.
At least the OP got in one of the world's most heinous punctuation errors in the title. Perhaps they should send some of that aid to his area to improve basic education in the English language.0 -

it doesn't surprise me at all since we ALWAYS send aid in these types of situations.
only reason I posted this because every other thread about the US on here is now horrible we treat the rest of the world. sorry if I get tired of the one sidedness of that. sue me0 -

Off topic but soccer is a real sport in fact it's the MOST popular sport in this world. The US does provide great help around as we should because we have the means to do so. We also cause much mayhem in countries around the world to further our agendas, I gather both circumstances washes themselves out.

The Russians being among the many who played an essential role in defeating the Germans.

And you don't think you'd be talking German had you not joined forces with other countries to assist with the war efforts? Americans- with their poor use of the apostrophe- would be eating bratwurst instead of bacon had they sat idle while other countries were getting busy fighting tyranny.
Come to think of it... that scenario is not likely. The anti-German coalition without the US would likely have been enough- it just would have taken longer to declare victory.
These types of comments remind me of the narcissistic parent of a kid on a sport team that wishes to attribute all the credit for a team's victory towards their child."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

this is very true, we Canadians for a country with a small population had a million join the military in WW2. But so many countries played a role, not just the US, Russia, UK or Canada but all countries played a role.I have certain rules I live by ... My First Rule ... i think anybody who feels that the us is completely responsible for the defeat of the axis powers has a completely limited grasp of history. it was a collective effort.
personally, i like the fact that i live in a country that, when called upon, helps other countries in the time of natural disasters."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln
