Gators used to be endangered but they came back in a big way. I really don't get the impression people hunt them for sport. They seem most likely to be killed when they and humans get too close in proximity or they lose their fear of people. I'd read that the gator had taken some of the guy's cattle. I'm not justifying, just saying I understand the guy's motivation.
Alligator hunting is big business in Florida. It's a tourist attraction; an industry. There are guided alligator hunting tours/"adventures". Also, the people who killed that particular one belonged to a hunting group. Yeah, it was close to cattle (no evidence that it actually did kill any though btw), but at the same time the people belong to a hunting group.... so it's possible that this alligator wasn't as close to cattle as they would have you think. But yeah, right or wrong, obviously any person living near that monster, especially those with kids, would have a clear motivation to be rid of it.... But again, relocation would be a much better method to use.
the big gator seems to be the dominant one in it's area, you relocate a gator like that and could disrupt the system and I have heard that once a gator gets a taste or liking for something they find it one way or another but I that's just stuff I've picked up since I've been here.
Godfather.
A taste of liking for what? There is no report that I see anywhere that the alligator ate a cow or a person.

He was obviously on drugs so I'm guessing he meant it was not his penis.

Florida is the 4th most sinful state in our nation, according to a new study from Wallet Hub.
In order to determine the most sinful states in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states across seven key dimensions: 1) Anger & Hatred, 2) Jealousy, 3) Excesses & Vices, 4) Greed, 5) Lust, 6) Vanity and 7) Laziness.
Nevada, California and Texas were the three states above Florida on the list. The least sinful was Idaho.
I know one thing after living here in South Florida since 2010 permanently. This state has some serious issues with rage road incidents. Serious incapablilaties as far as driving even though we appear to have some of the best roads in the country.

Even 5 year olds in Flo Rida are smoking or ingesting bath salts. Or something? Should have had a gun. Send that kid to Ukraine.
A south Florida teacher was taken to the hospital last week after she was attacked by a 5-year-old student, leaving her "dazed" and "unresponsive," officials said Monday.
The unidentified instructor was found by first responders “sitting on the ground against the wall" and "appearing to be in a faint state" at Pines Lakes Elementary School, about 15 miles southwest of downtown Fort Lauderdale, according to a heavily redacted Pembroke Pines Police Department incident report.
^^^Reminds me of a special ed kid, Johnny, with whom I went to school. He used to hang out in the bus circle and stare at the bus tires in a sort of trance until the morning bell rang.
We were always curious about what was so enthralling about bus tires to him. One day, my friend Dana decided to ask him. She approached him, tapped him on the shoulder, and he then proceeded to beat the ever loving shit out of her.

A Dunkin’ manager fatally punched a customer after being called the n-word. He was sentenced to house arrest.
Vonelle Cook was angry about his service at a Dunkin’ in Tampa last May, so the 77-year-old marched into the store, berated the manager and called him the n-word, according to police.
The manager, Corey Pujols, 27, is Black — and he told Cook not to say it again.
But Cook did anyway, so Pujols swung a right hook, hit Cook in the jaw and knocked the septuagenarian unconscious, causing him to fall and hit his head on the floor, according to an arrest affidavit.
Pujols was originally charged with aggravated manslaughter, a crime that carries a maximum of 30 years in prison. But on Monday, a judge sentenced Pujols to two years of house arrest followed by three years of probation, as well as 200 hours of community service, after Pujols pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of felony battery.
Around 1:30 p.m. on May 4, Cook was going through the drive-through at the doughnut shop when he became angry with the service, the Tampa Bay Times reported at the time. Cook was a regular there, and despite employees asking him to leave, Cook parked and started arguing with Pujols inside the store.
That is when he called Pujols the n-word twice, according to an arrest affidavit, and Pujols punched the man unconscious, causing him to fall, hit his head and bleed on the floor. Cook was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of Tampa General Hospital and died there days later, according to the Times.
I feel like all the craziest places in the world are too hot (Russia excluded, and I'm not saying that because of current events - all those "Only in Russia" videos on YouTube are something else!!). Florida is too hot - people's brains slowly cook down there, and that explains everything.
