Nobody is saying that there aren't bigger and underlying problems. Without question, they need to be addressed... but in the meantime... put some bandages on the hemorrhaging and stop the bleeding until the help comes.

Each handgun (assault weapons as well) that is sold is yet another killing weapon introduced to society. There is no practical need for such a weapon outside of military and law enforcement. A weak argument could be made for ranchers and deep woods hunters- outside of that... target practice. Not good enough.

Tax the shit out of ammunition and make it very expensive. Use the income generated from here to begin addressing the inequitable system your country is forging.
I am so glad that you do not have the right to vote in our elections! Hunting and ammunition is already way too expensive, lol

I'm truly sorry that so many shitbirds create so many problems that leave hunters defensive under such scrutiny. I have nothing against your way of life.

Of the top 10 states in terms of gun violence per capita.

Number of those states that require a permit to carry a handgun: 0

I'm guessing Texas isn't on that list then.

texas in the bottom 3rd still ... and fyi ... based on a brady score in terms of gun control laws - texas is more strict on guns (relatively speaking) than pretty much all those states on that list ...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violen ... s_by_state

sort gun murders per capita and then sort brady score ... you should see a correlation ...

Wait, almost all of those states on the list have good BBQ! Maybe that's the identifying correlation! Ha

You won't be getting any argument from me there!

On a serious note: I like how you have definitively placed your position on this board accented with a slice of humour.

    Have a good one.

I think it is very sad when:

Group A- Looks to a musician/celebrity as a compelling political voice
    and
Group B- actually uses a musician/celebrity as a political target

Where are the heroes like we have studied from times in the past?

When a politically and socially motivated individual (or group of individuals such as PJ) just happens to also be a musician, it flattens this sort of viewpoint. PJ is and always have been political.

This is fine, but where are our great leaders that the people respect and admire for their efforts? Nowadays, every leader we seem to come across has a self-serving agenda that they carry out with full conviction, while not bothering to even somewhat placate the people.

True leaders are servant leaders and selfless.

This kind of sensible statement upsets gun owners? Really? Mind boggling.

    Thank you, Ed!

I agree, and I was at Hartford. To think that someone there called up Infowars because the singer has control of the mic and can say whatever he wants. People seem to think that freedom of speech is ok as long as they don't talk gun control.

Sadly, they don't exist anymore, and the future doesn't look good because of it.
