I'm guessing Texas isn't on that list then.

Interesting, seeing as how almost everyone in TX owns a gun...

texas in the bottom 3rd still ... and fyi ... based on a brady score in terms of gun control laws - texas is more strict on guns (relatively speaking) than pretty much all those states on that list ...

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violen ... s_by_state

sort gun murders per capita and then sort brady score ... you should see a correlation ...

    Finally!!!!!

Not a top ten state for gun violence.

Something you can be proud of.

Wait, almost all of those states on the list have good BBQ! Maybe that's the identifying correlation! Ha

You won't be getting any argument from me there!

On a serious note: I like how you have definitively placed your position on this board accented with a slice of humour.

    Have a good one.

I think it is very sad when:

Group A- Looks to a musician/celebrity as a compelling political voice
    and
Group B- actually uses a musician/celebrity as a political target

Where are the heroes like we have studied from times in the past?

When a politically and socially motivated individual (or group of individuals such as PJ) just happens to also be a musician, it flattens this sort of viewpoint. PJ is and always have been political.

This is fine, but where are our great leaders that the people respect and admire for their efforts? Nowadays, every leader we seem to come across has a self-serving agenda that they carry out with full conviction, while not bothering to even somewhat placate the people.

True leaders are servant leaders and selfless.

This kind of sensible statement upsets gun owners? Really? Mind boggling.

    Thank you, Ed!

I agree, and I was at Hartford. To think that someone there called up Infowars because the singer has control of the mic and can say whatever he wants. People seem to think that freedom of speech is ok as long as they don't talk gun control.

Sadly, they don't exist anymore, and the future doesn't look good because of it.

I don't know about the gibberish in the article, but in that photo the two of them look like they've swallowed some mescaline.

Are you talking about Penn and Vedder?

It looks to me like Penn farted and Vedder has just realized it.
