...just saying.

Is Pendulum the new Yellow Ledbetter? And there's only few obscurities each show. Mind you, I am not complaining, just pointing out the obvious. ;)

I'm still waiting for them to play Getaway. I think they've played everything off LB except for this song. I've got three shows lined up for the second leg of the tour and hope to hear it at least once.

Are you serious? This is one of the more laughable thread headlines. Give your head a shake buddy. These setlists are some of the most unpredictable ever, and some of the best ever
  • adusickadusick Posts: 1,387
I was just telling a buddy how awesome it is that PJ has such a deep catalog to pull from, and that the setlists have been so varied and all over the place.

"Set lists are getting pretty predictable"?? Yeah, you're really off here...just saying. ;)

  • these sets are pretty ridiculous. They keep getting better and better. I actually almost feel bad for the people getting openers, cause that will mean slightly shorter sets, but still. Watching these sets roll in each night is absolutely killing me

If by predictable you mean fucking AWESOME then I completely agree...

  • I really like the change up
Of closers that have been going on. All along the watch tower sounds like it would be a great closer.

Yep! Every night I watch the set list thread and it makes me freak out.

Just when I think that I found the set I WISH I had heard, the next night something even more awesome comes up that I want more than the night before.

These shows have been seriously epic. To say the set lists are getting predictable is ridiculous.

They played getaway tonight, didnt see that coming. Closing with Along the watchtower instead of YL?

Nope, wouldnt have guessed that at all.

Van Halen songs a few days ago??!?!? Truly fucking awesome surprises EVERY night.

Im jealous of all the people that have been going the past few weeks. I was only able to go to Pittsburgh and it has just gotten better and better every night since that show.

Honestly, I could go to two nights worth of shows and they could play the same exact set list two nights in row and I wouldnt give two shits. I would just be happy as hell to be there watching them play.

Overall I disagree. Roughly 10 shows and over 100 different songs is impressive. At VA this year I did terrible at predicting. NC I was able to predict the set more, but what can you expect after a night like that in VA?

I disagree with you, they haven't been predictable (other than pendulum, yellow moon, etc.) But the setlists are not well thought out IMO. They play the SAME songs off the new album night after night, missing one of the best songs on the album (getaway) through most of the tour so far. In back to back nights in the same city, they repeat too many songs. I've heard for years about what goes in to writing a setlist and I just don't see the effort this year. I've always heard they consider what they've played in that city in recent stops, but that doesn't seem to be a consideration anymore. (e.g. Pilate was played at Spectrum 4 and on this tour in Philly)

my god man, they played 4 concerts last time in philly, of course they will end up playing some of the same songs. they have a new record, of course they are going to play those songs. they are still trying to sell records you know.

Yeah, they sure are. Damn those Pearl Jam guys and their predictability! They've only played 121 different songs in the first 12 shows of this tour!

I was Worcestered twice and am just now recovering from Charlottesville. Predictability has not and did not figure into any of those experiences.

They also started with Present Tense as song TWO and opened with LOW LIGHT.
( oh, i'm sorry Three and Two when you add Pendulum back in ;) )

    SO PREDICTABLE!

If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

You weren't totally expecting Release=>In My Tree as the opening mind fuck
followed after a Corduroy pace lap by Go=>Why Go?

Dude. I saw that coming miles away.
I told my girl right before the show, "Release in to In My Tree, watch this shit. I Can smell it!"
