not sure which is more impressive, Golden State Warriors at 14-0 or the Sixers at 0-13

wonder what will happen? Sixers have more losses than the Warriors have wins or Sixers have more wins than the Warriors have losses?

This could be the first time a coach has been fired when he is leading the conference in standings.

Lebron must have done this ...

Bill Russell won two titles in three years as a player coach. Why pretend anyone other than LeBron is the coach now? Missing a chance to pad your legacy, coach killer.

If you believe the reports from ESPN, LeBron James had nothing to do with this. Even if he did, who cares?

It`s shady business. Kind of like firing McHale a couple games into the season after rallying in the playoffs vs LAC, losing to the champs in the WCF. Rockets obviously over-achieved last year since they are battling to be .500.....
Just shows that unless you win a championship your jobs not safe.
Hell Grizz fired their coach after taking the Grizz to the WCF, Bulls fired Thibs after he overachieved, now they can`t play offense and are middle of the pack in the East, Warriors fired Mark Jackson after he helped build a great team and upset Denver, then Denver fired Karl who was coach of the year. I love the NBA, but most ownership has no integrity. I could not imagine dealing with front office dickheads.
I like how Jerry Colangelo came to Philly, said you dickheads know nothing about basketball, get me Dantoni and Ish! Now they look decent. Does anyone in the front office actually believe anyone is going to stay to rebuild that they have drafted if they do no see progress....

As a die hard Cleveland guy who has watched basically every game for the last two years, I'm okay with this termination. First, of course the organization knew that LBJ would support this. That doesn't mean he was called prior, but my guess is that ownership knew the answer.
Second, the rotations were a mess. One week TT starts, the next Mozy does. And how can you EVER have a scenario in the first quarter where Lebron, Love and Kyrie are all sitting? Doesn't make sense but it happened all the time. And Mo Williams hasn't seen the floor in two weeks. He is basically the 3rd PG (and maybe should be the 2nd... better scoring than Delly but not as good defensively). He needs to get in there on occasion. The rotations were screwy. I won't even start on Love's usage.

Last, I agree with Lue's assessment of the team being out of shape. They are and it was clear against Chicago when they pushed the pace. Cleveland is a far better team out in space than in a half court set. Lebron and Kyrie should push the ball on all misses and anytime they can inbound quickly. We will get much better shots and easier offensive boards that way.

Blatt never really connected with the team and that is important.

it's hard to connect with a mutiny ... haha ...

not sure how you can justify sacking a coach that went to the NBA finals in his rookie year, is currently leading the eastern conference and recently won 11 of 13 games ...

that's where the GM and owner are basically being bullied by lebron ... probably why lebron left miami because he couldn't bully pat riley ...

The Cavs had far superior talent than anyone else in the East. Going to the Finals wasn't a great achievement. Plus, Lue was the number one assistant and he was almost offered the job originally. Now you can argue that it was a mistake to have Lue as an assistant to Blatt considering the high regard Lue is held around the league and that he learned offense from Doc and defense from Tom T., but that would have been a mistake my management, not Lebron.
I'm thrilled that Dan Gilbert is doing EVERYTHING he can to bring us a title. He is not settling for a good coach, or a good #3 PG. He is paying an obscene luxury tax but every decision they make is to try to get better.

hey ... if that's what you think ... sure ...

not sure how lue can build up a reputation since he's only been coaching for like 2 years ...

i don't doubt dan gilbert wants a championship - just not sure letting the inmates run the asylum is the right way to go about it ...

    Hello NBA thread.

I know nothing about shooty baskets. But I have rec'd an email from Goldstar that has Knicks tickets in Feb for between $50-$100 dollars. I don't know if that's a good price or not.

    Just passing along the info.

I'd recommend using a dedicated spam email address when signing up for Goldstar. They sure do like to send emails!

You have had to watch Blatt to understand. The offensive sets were basic. Too many simple pick plays, too many iso's, and not able to get Love on the elbow often enough. Any time the Cavs were 10 seconds into an offensive set, it was death. They looked great when running a quick play out of transition.

hey ... I hear ya ... it's no different than the raptors who I watch a lot too ... but outside of San Antonio and GSW - that's what most teams employ now ... Love is a role player now - he needs a pass first pg but when the offense moves through lebron and kyrie - he's essentially a ryan anderson type ...

the cavs are 5th in offensive rating and 6th in defensive rating ... you can nitpick all you want but the dude was delivering on what he was hired to do ... has there ever been a coach with his success that's been fired like that? ... if not - it's because they aren't supposed to be ...

guy got the cavs to game 6 of the nba finals without 2 of his best players ...

It was a staffer? Holy crap. That is quite bad.
