great show, i had a blast, got a ton of songs that on any given night to hear one of them would make me go nuts- mainly MFC and breath...
and im glad to see them acknowledge present tense is a great song.. ive heard it three times in 4 shows in 2013 and in no way is that a bad thing! it had been too sparse in the rotation for the last few years. really love that song.
but i will agree the show had a little less than stellar flow, but thats a small complaint, i just think being the third show for me after bk2 and philly 1, it had a tough spot to follow.
for the lb stuff, staring to get it a bit more, mym is awesome, and i love the end of lightng bolt.. (coincidence nothing man preceded it? "caught a bolt of lightning").. pendulum is good, can it fit anywhere else than an opener, is that why they open w it every night? like the song, would like a mixup for the opener.. infalliable - well as they say, if you cant say anyting nice, dont say anythign at all!

eddie fell HARD at the end there, hope he's ok!
what t shirt did he have on? i was section 124 10 rows up and couldnt make it out but thought it may have been "tramps liike us baby we were born to run"? he was pointing at it when he was talking about bruce/inspiration..

  • Let me start by saying great show . But.......... It's tough to not feel a little let down after night 1. The crowd tonight and overall vibe was nothing compared to night 1. If I hadn't been to 1st night then this show would have been unbelievable . The band definitely feeds off the crowd and it didn't have the same punch as night 1. I was sec 123 next to stage and there was quite a few people sitting down during 1st encore. I guess I was more unhappy with crowd then the show itself. I was also surprised with the amount of repeat songs from 1st night. Overall still a great show from the best band I've ever seen!

No Black or Daughter played in either Philly show. Just a fascinating band.

Loved Ed quoting Neil young from the last waltz's "helpless" while trying to figure out opening chords to leaving here. "They got it now Robbie"

  • Loved every moment of last night's show-I had fantastic seats-section 112 row 9-thanks, 10c!

Highlights for me were Breath, Present Tense, Unthought Known, and one of my all time favorites, Nothingman!! :D

Was so happy when Eddie gave a shout out to the folks at radio station WMMR-they were ecstatic, playing it over and over on the station on the way home!

Thanks to the enthusiastic guys from Canada who stood next to me-so different from the seat mates in Brooklyn who never even stood up!

Was so worried when Ed fell hard towards the end of the show, but he got right back up and seemed fine. I also worried about him when he was swinging on the light, as it seemed to take a while for him to get situated ok.

Thanks, PJ for another stellar performance-oh, and I loved hearing Parachutes and Come Back too!! :D:D:D

I'm also on the Night 1 better than Night 2 train. The crowd last night just did not seem that into it. Where I was, Section 104, everyone behind me sat the entire time, saw people on their phones the entire time too. Why pay all that money to just sit there and FB and text all night! Boggles the mind. Surprised at the non LB repeats.

Still nonetheless, a great show. Besides Made in America two years ago, their first trip back to Philly since 2009. Can't complain too much.

Section 111 was filled with so many people buying beer, splilling beer while hugging their buddy with cup raised overhead like the statue of liberty torch (really), then having to go down the row to get rid of the beer, and then repeat the whole process until they dont comeback (yay) or better yet pass the hell out ! THIS ISN'T DAVE MATTHEWS BAND, a$$holes. LOVE FRAT BOYS.....in their 30's and 40's
Agreed. Been to many venues in many states for Pearl Jam and it just seems the folks you speak of are much more prevalent in Philadelphia/Camden. Night one I had some asshole behind us in sec 104 pissing into his beer cup because he was too lazy to go piss in the bathroom. I gave him a few choice words and made sure he put his cup under his own seat as to not kick it over in front of him and have it roll down hill. He proceeded to keep buying and drinking, but started using the rest room after our exchange.

Last night was on the floor dead center. I mean right under the mid court scoreboard. So last night's asshole showed up around the first encore. He comes climbing and stumbling over all the people in the row as well as the chairs and parks himself in an empty spot vacated by someone who stepped away for whatever reason. The spot was one row in front of me. Then he proceeds to try and signal his friends for the next 3 or 4 songs, distracting the shit out of everyone in the process. He then wants to go retrieve them and the process of climbing over everyone and everything begins once again.

I do not get what makes people so inconsiderate and gives them the feeling of entitlement.

I thought the show last night was great! This was my first show this tour. Breath into SOLAT was awesome and the final Encore left the place rocking! The first Encore took a little bit of the air out of the crowd. I was up in 203 and the crowd in my section was completely in to it. I'm looking forward to Baltimore on Sunday!

Went to Brooklyn2 and both nights here in Philly and I'd rank them: Philly1, Brooklyn 2, Philly 2.
They were all amazing in their own ways though and I'm grateful to have been at all of them. Philly 1 I was in the GA pit and the energy from the crowd was incredible and I definitely felt like the band fed off that energy more so than last night. Last night I was lucky enough to get a great seat from a fellow 10C member who had an extra but the section we were in was pretty lame. Almost the entire row in front us sat for 75% of the show and people around us were sitting through most of the first encore which was very lame so not as fun of an experience as night 1. Also last night's set list was very similar to Brooklyn2. Not complaining but I'm still waiting to hear Inside Job and Of the Girl. Has anyone heard them??? Maybe someday I'll get lucky...

The 4 shows I went to on this tour and how they rank for me are:
Brooklyn I - Chloe Dancer / Crown of Thorns - I mean how often are you going to get both of those, not just Crown? Oceans? I mean c'mon. I went about 975 songs seen live between my first and only other Oceans (9/8/98)and this one. My first time seeing all of the LB songs live. Pendulum is just powerful. So everything was just brand new to me at Brooklyn I and much of it sounds a lot better live than on the recording. I am a huge VH fan, so Eruption was friggin sweet! Sleight of Hand is my favorite Binaural song and I love it every time I see it. Have not seen Save You in a while and that one is always a kick in the ass. Closing with Indifference is as good as it gets IMHO.
Philly I A close call with BKLN II, but the energy of the crowd and band pushed this one to the front of the two.
Mother was spectacular. Breath and SOLAT B2B is an unbeatable 2 song combo.
Brooklyn II - Highlight for me was hearing Present Tense and All Those Yesterdays. Wash is ALWAYS a great "opener" even tho it was 2nd.
Philly II - The first show in 35 that I did not get a different song for the first time. That is a spectacular stat if you ask me. Great show, just falls behind the other 3. Doesn't make it a bad thing.

Pendulum opening 4 times --- much has been said about it. I for one LOVE it. It is a great mood setter. To me it is the "Indifference" of Lightning Bolt.

Had GA for the 2nd Philly show. Was two rows behind the rail right in front on Mike. Let's just get it out of the way the Mike is freaking awesome. Really interacts with the crowd, makes you feel at times like he is playing just for you. And he really does appear to me a nice humble guy who loves to interact with his fans and is so approachable. I also love him because he threw my 3 picks and basically dove into my arms during Baba (also got passed Eddie's champagne bottle but passed on taking a swig). Also, many thanks to the GA section where I was -- people were into it but also respectful of people's space and even saved people's spots when they had to use the restroom. I also loved it when Eddie totally fell off the speaker at the end of the show -- a little too much wine and champagne for the man. I went to the 2 Brooklyn shows and 2 Philly shows and here is how I would rank them:

Brooklyn 2 -- energy at the end was incredible with rockin the in the free world into Mike's solo star spangled banner. It looked like the guys were having a great time. In Hiding was big highlight for me.

Philly 1 -- the crowd's energy (especially for a Monday) was crazy good and the band fed off of it. Mother was a nice treat.

Philly 2 -- Breath into SOLAT was nice. Also, loved Present Tense. A little disppointed because the setlist was similar to Brooklyn 2 and maybe expectation were too high going in that it would be a show for the ages after Philly 1. I also agree that the energy level was down a little bit from the previous night.

Brooklyn 1- some technical issues and Eddie seemed pissed off. At least we got Chloe Dance/Crown of Thorns and Oceans out of it.

All in all thrilled to have gone to these shows and looking forward to my final one for now in Baltimore on Sunday.

Was in GA 7 rows back from EV... pretty sure he was HAMMERED by the end of the show. Normally, I would be suspect that he was just hamming it up for the crowd but the slip and fall was for real. He is hurting this morning for sure.

State and Leaving Here really stood out to me for some reason. Maybe the tempo of those songs just lend themselves to having everyone in sync with each other a little more.

Wish the others would pull back a bit when Mike solos. It's hard to distinguish his sound on some of the louder/faster songs when Matt, Jeff and Stone are also going crazy. Or maybe I'm just going deaf and should go see a Dr.

Yeah I was disappointed by that too. It was also a little bittersweet that I won the lottery (2nd row) but with the GA section in front of me, it wasn't nearly as special as it would have been had I won the lottery in previous years. Oh well.

  • Another fantastic show.
Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.
  • I was in a terrible section in 212.

Lots of repeats from BK but overall the band was in great spirits and I heard Untitled/MFC and Parachutes for the first time.

I was in 212 also. It sucked, half the section was sitting. A friend of mine said he noticed he was getting dirty looks from people near him when he was rocking out. I guess having fun and enjoying yourself is frowned upon these days.

But the crowd as a whole was fantastic.

I'm glad you got down for one here. Eddie mentioning you in Newark is still one of my favorite memories from a PJ show.

That's what it was; WMMR played an interview they did with Eddie last night and mentioned the shirt with the Born To Run lyric. At the time they (the DJs) didn't know Bruce was in the building! I don't see a link on their site yet but the interview was pretty cool if you can catch it.

  • LONG LONG time Pearl Jam fan, first time poster.

My 3rd and 4th shows were Brooklyn 1 and Philly 2, and while Brooklyn 1 was really lacking something (I think it was my terrible seats, which finally prompted me to rejoin the 10c), Philly 2 blew the roof off! If work hadn't gotten in the way, I would have gone to all 4 shows.

The weird thing is that I had 2 seats which were diagonally behind the stage, but in the first row, but when I was getting ready to sit down, I saw that the front row was roped off across the whole back half-circle. I asked the usher, and he told me that I was getting an upgrade, and gave me a choice of anywhere I wanted to sit (except for the GA). I debated in my head for a couple seconds if I wanted the floor behind the GA, or a closer side seat, and finally decided on the latter, which gave me a PERFECT view of the stage, and the best seats I've had yet. My friend who was going to go with me cancelled at the last minute and I wasn't able to find a new +1, so going solo really had an advantage there, since I wouldn't have been able to get such good seats if I needed a new pair! Fortunately the people around me were really into the show, unlike most of the people around me at Brooklyn, so I felt like I was amongst a big group of friends anyway,

A lot of first time songs for me. Satan's Bed sure was fun, and MFC is one of my favorite PJ songs ever, so I went absolutely insane during that. That Betterman jam was something else, it really felt like they were ready to retire that song and wanted to send it off with a bang. The lighting effects on Blood, with all the blinking red lights, were a nice surprise. They got about 30 seconds into Green Disease and then aborted it, and never came back to it, which was a disappointment. World Wide Suicide was dedicated to a soldier who was conveniently seated right next to the stage, and every cop in the building worked their way over to him to shake his hand. The Happy Birthday sing along was great too.

Between those two shows, I only have 3 LB songs left to see in order to finish the album (Father's Son, Getaway and Sleeping). It also seemed unusual that they only did 1 Vs song tonight, and between my two shows this year I've only seen 1 Binaural song at all.

I also gotta say, I love how Boom has added a synthesizer to his rig, and he absolutely kills it on Pendulum, Lightning Bolt and Infallible!

I had to leave right as Baba was starting in order to catch my train back to NYC, but I timed it perfectly so that I missed as little of the show as possible and still got to the station just in time. It was funny how they busted out Leaving Here right as I was checking the time and saw I only had a couple minutes left, as if they were encouraging me to go going! My only other regret is that I wasn't able to find any of those posters, and I just failed at getting the $140 version too. I walked the entire arena looking for one, although I did find one stand that still had the 10/22/13 shirts. They had plenty of Brooklyn 1 posters, so I didn't think that I would have to get there early for the Philly 2 poster.

I'd have to rank Philly 2 as the 2nd best PJ show I've seen - nothing, not by ANY band, can top the 2003 MSG 1 show though.
