enc 1: I Got Shit, Lukin, Even Flow, Present Tense, Yellow Ledbetter
notes: This is a seemingly standard show, with little interaction or chat between the crowd and the band. Ed comments before 'Better Man' about how long the trip to Ireland was and how he felt like they were still at home with the rain, green terrain, great beer and good people. Stone gives a nod to Jack "on drums" at the end of 'Daughter.'

set: Release, Last Exit, Animal, Spin the Black Circle, Hail Hail, In My Tree, Corduroy, Elderly Woman, Lukin, Mankind, Even Flow, Daughter/(Noise of Carpet), Jeremy, Go, Habit, Immortality, Alive, Blood/(Fame)
enc 1: Who You Are, Better Man, State of Love and Trust, Off He Goes, Hunger Strike
    enc 2: Yellow Ledbetter
notes: The band seems in a friendly, upbeat mood with Ed being rather chatty. He tells a little story before 'Habit': "We met an interesting fellow in a little basement club thing last night. You know ... one of those guys who says, 'Heroin, its not addicting. I've been doing it for eight years.' ... whatever, mate. This song's for you." Ed refers to 'Mankind' as Stone Gossard's "vocal debut in Ireland." ('Mankind' was skipped in Cork.) 'Even Flow' features a very cool, different jam by Mike. During the 'Daughter' outro, Ed suggests, "OK, so the shades are down ... why not, roll them up?" leading to 'Noise of Carpet.' After Alive, Ed notes that this is the first time PJ has played Dublin proper and he says he thinks he has agoraphobia. The crowd is given a choice between 'Leaving Here' and 'Yellow Ledbetter' for the final song; 'Yellow Ledbetter' is played.

enc: Off He Goes, Better Man, Whipping, Smile, Leaving Here
notes: The show begins with Ed stepping to the mic and saying, "The waiting drove me mad. This song's called 'Oceans.'" Ed is nursing his throat a bit, drinking tea between songs, but having to stretch a lot to hit notes. Ed leads into "In My Tree" with, "So far this feels nice and cozy. This ain't bad at all." 'Even Flow' features a cool little guitar intro and Mike's solo is brilliant! Jeff says "Lemme just say this is the most fun we've had in London before." Ed follows with a talk about how he was watching a TV show about how London dealt with sewage problems back in the 1600s, " ... the point being, you've had a lot of shit here for a long, long time--and just finally you're dealing with it." 'Blood' is a short, but very intense version. Introduced as " ... a request that came up from the front ... ," 'Smile' is played live before an audience for the first time.

Ed inserts the last verse of Sting's 'Island of Souls' into 'Deep.' A very short version of the Who's 'My Generation' is covered by PJ for the first time.

    1991-09-30 San Francisco: http://www.sendspace.com/file/qqw2fs
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Suggestion/State of Love and Trust, Alive, Garden, Deep, Black, Jeremy, Why Go, Porch, I've Got a Feeling
notes: Bad day for the band it seems. Equipment problems are apparent and fights break out in the crowd a lot. During 'Even Flow,' Ed gets disgusted and flings the mic to the floor, choosing to bellow out the lyrics unaided. He can tell people in the back can't hear him though, so he quickly picks it back up. A capella version of Fugazi's 'Suggestion.' Ed stands on a monitor and then tumbles into the audience during 'Alive.' 'Garden' starts, and after the first verse Ed sees a fight in the first row and breaks it up, then sings the second verse from down on the floor, which seems to calm people down. Then he says, "All right I'll trust you guys to be friends," and climbs back up on stage. Ed suddenly jumps into the crowd again during 'Jeremy,' probably to break up another fight, since three crew members pile in after him. After 'Why Go,' Ed quips, "I'm out of breath and Mike's out of clothes." Someone in the front hands Ed a home-made stickman T-shirt. Ed says, "This thing, gentlemen, is illegal," and then laughs. "Who did this? We love it." Ed is holding it up for the audience to see and Jeff comes over to get a better look at it. Ed says, "Pretty good job!" and Jeff is smiling and seems to agree. "I think he's gettin' better than you, Jeff." Ed reads the tag, "100% cotton," shrugs and smiles. The mood lightens up a bit, and Ed climbs like a maniac during 'Porch.' The end of the song is sung from the rafters. 'I've Got a Feeling' is a Beatles cover. (PJ's studio version appears on the Japanese release of Ten and early promo releases of 'Alive'). Long, jammy version, with Mike adding Hendrix bits and Ed improvising lyrics.

    1991-10-06 Hollywood: http://www.sendspace.com/file/syejyu
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Alive, Jeremy, Why Go, Porch
notes: Ed comments that it was "a year ago tomorrow" since he met the band. This showcase gig (a 5th anniversary party for RIP Magazine) also featured Spinal Tap, Alice in Chains, Screaming Jets, Soundgarden and Thunder. A "special surprise guest" (rumored to be Metallica) was supposed to play, but it was announced that there was a mix up but the night wasn't over and, "... so the Seattle theme continues ... ladies and gentlemen, Temple of the Dog!" Now the crowd has dwindled to only 500 people, but three songs are performed: 'Hunger Strike,' 'Reach Down' and 'Pushin' Forward Back.'

    1991-12-29 Tempe: http://www.sendspace.com/file/39empg
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Alive, Jeremy, Why Go, Porch
notes: During 'Porch,' Ed climbs the scaffolding and hangs upside down by his knees, singing the outtro chorus. The place is electrified as he jumps down, the crowd fearful someone might die. Lots of chat from Ed and during Nirvana's set, he repeatedly comes from the wings of the stage, running top speed and diving far out into the crowd. He is carefully returned to the stage each time.

    1992-06-19 Wien: http://www.sendspace.com/file/alnj6p
set: Oceans, Even Flow, Why Go, Jeremy, State of Love and Trust, Black, Alive, Jam/Once, Footsteps, Deep, Improv/Leash, Porch
enc: Garden, Rockin' in the Free World
notes: The "Mamasan trilogy" appears again, broken with an unusual jam after 'Alive' along the lines of "everybody's somebody in here ... I'm not crazy ... just a little bit." Ed talks about how someone who was interviewing him said he thought that fans didn't listen to lyrics and that PJ could just sing "blah blah blah" and the crowd would like it. Ed says he doesn't believe that and would never sing "blah blah blah." A cute improv surfaces after 'Deep': "You can do what you want to, don't tell me what I must do ... I guarantee I'll do the opposite ... don't tell me ... I'll say fuck you."

    1992-07-21 Vancouver: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bahdyd
notes: A very intense performance with the highlight during 'Porch' to close the set. Ed climbs the scaffolding to the side of the stage and dives into the crowd and the whole stadium goes crazy!

enc 1: The Kids are Alright, Blood, Why Go, Once/(Tearing), Sonic Reducer
    enc 2: Indifference
notes: In recognition of the return to his second home town, Ed quips, "There's a lot of people coming up to me and they say 'hey Eddie, remember me from high school?' Hey, man. I've smoked a lot of pot since then. I don't know who the fuck you are." 'Shine' is a Rollins Band cover.

    1993-11-12 Dallas: http://www.sendspace.com/file/7er4b2

enc 1: Blood, Dissident, Sonic Reducer, Improv (Don't Think You Trust Me?), Rockin' in the Free World
    enc 2: Garden, Porch
    enc 3: Angel
notes: King's X joins PJ for 'RitFW.' 'Angel' makes a rare setlist appearance, performed on the drum riser with only Dave on guitar and Ed singing.

    1993-11-24 Wichita: http://www.sendspace.com/file/j5h5bh
set: Go, Animal, Even Flow, Glorified G, Daughter/(I'm One), Jeremy, Deep, Oceans, State of Love and Trust, Dissident, Alive, Porch/(Tearing)
enc 1: The Kids are Alright [Ed solo], Rearviewmirror, Black (song stopped and restarted), Rockin' in the Free World
    enc 2: Indifference
notes: Good show with Ed fairly chatty and lots of little guitar riffs and fills are heard between songs. 'Oceans' pops up oddly in mid-set. 'Porch' is intense with a cool strobe light effect. Ed stops 'Black' about a minute into it asking people to quiet down, saying they haven't played it lately and that "... it's kind of a heavy thing" and asks the crowd surfers to"just cool it for one song, all right?" "If you come up, we're gonna spit on you and we're gonna kick you and the whole thing. Just mellow for one song. These people up front--they just wanna watch some music, OK? Deal!" The song is restarted from the beginning. Ed starts off the encore with a solo performance of 'TKAA,' leading directly into 'RVM.' The band is on and Ed's voice is flawless.

    1991-02-07 Los Angeles: http://www.sendspace.com/file/mrr08j
set: Release, Once, Even Flow, Alone, Breath, Brother, Garden, Porch, Why Go
notes: Dave Krusen drums at this rather rushed performance sporting a cool setlist. After 'Once,' Mike jams some riffs and Ed talks about hanging out in L.A. 'Alone' features scorching vocals by Ed and awesome soloing by Mike. Ed asks for a new mic after 'Breath' and introduces 'Brother' as being about big brother. This is the only documented time that this obscure song was played live. 'Garden' premieres, with Mike's solo shorter than later, polished versions; same for the premiere of 'Porch' although the bridge seems to get the crowd excited. 'Why Go', also played for the first time, is high energy and closes the show.

    1991-02-08 Long Beach: http://www.sendspace.com/file/ayfd6h
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Alone, Alive, Deep, Porch
notes: The band is introduced as "the band had played other places in California, and is now playing here, and has former Mother Love Bone members, and is now called Mookie Blaylock." Ed talks about playing the Florentine Gardens: "Last night we played the Florentines, which is a cool place! The security people are really nice over there." "No shit, Eddie!" some guy in the crowd shouts. A very cool, short concert with lots of crowd interaction with the power and vibe of the band bursting out.

    1991-02-11 Hollywood: http://www.sendspace.com/file/16r6jx
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Breath, Porch
notes: Ed discusses the band's name (Mookie Blaylock) and that they are expecting a call from Mookie's lawyer demanding the band change their name ("... like tomorrow ... probably the next time it's gonna be a different name ... like ... Nuclear Love Frogs.")

    1991-07-12 Philadelphia: http://www.sendspace.com/file/d4dk1i
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, State of Love and Trust, Alive, Oceans, Jeremy, Why Go, Porch, Alone, Breath
notes: Ed thanks the opening bands and makes a reference to Mother Love Bone playing there in the past. 'State of Love and Trust' and 'Oceans' are played live for the first (documented) time.

    1991-07-13 New York: http://www.sendspace.com/file/v5szk8
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, State of Love and Trust, Alive, Garden, Deep, Why Go, Porch
notes: This is a musically powerful show with Mike showcasing his guitar prowess. Ed seems in a cocky mood, making pointed wisecracks between nearly every song. ("Let me show you guys the industry handshake. 'Oh, hi. Nice to meet you. Oh, ah, yes it was a pleasure. Sorry ... I see Slash.'") He jokes about 'Even Flow,' saying, "How many times we played this, once or twice? Wait, there's industry people here. We don't wanna fuck up." After 'Alive,' he quips, "OK, let's start getting into it. All the industry guys left. This, being PJ's first NYC show, Ed proclaims, "Hey, mama. I played New York City."

    1991-07-17 Wetland Preserves: http://www.sendspace.com/file/t767n7
set: Wash, Once, Even Flow, Alive, State of Love and Trust, Black, Why Go, Garden, Porch, Alone, Breath
notes: Matt Chamberlain on drums. Relaxed, fun performance. 'State of Love and Trust' is a bit different version.

I just discovered this thread a couple days ago... thanks to everyone on here who've helped me fill in the gaps I've had going back to 1995!

Two quick questions: are soundchecks off limits? I have a few that I was thinking about uploading but don't want to break any rules.

Two: There was a message deeper in this thread regarding Riot Act demos. The link has since died, and I was wondering if these were legit and still available.
