Night 2 the band seemed to have a better show all around and the crowd on Saturday was unreal....add the set list? Night 2 without a doubt.
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

I have to agree - Night 2 - even though they played Release the first night. :(

On paper, night 2 suffers from setlist point of view. No Binaural, Riot Act and Avocado. Which is a major down, IMO.

I hope the crowd energy and band performance compensate the setlist shortfall.

I like those records a lot but I'd hardly say that setlist suffered from anything. And I'm a guy who'd love to see them play Binaural straight through.

I think you are kind of blinded by "My show" syndrome. :)
I wasn't there so I think I can be more objective, at least from setlist assessment point of view.
Honestly speaking, I'd also take any setlist because I like all PJ songs. But I want setlists reflect a fairer distribution of the band's journey. Skipping entire 3 albums is a downfall for any setlist.
Someone said Night#2 setlist summed up to 1998 show + Unthought Known + LB, and this sums it all.

totally agree with the 98 comment. But to be honest, the first 5 albums translate a hell of a lot better live than the three albums that were not played. I know what you're saying about representing all albums but it was really nice to experience that set list. I said it in another thread but sleight of hand night one just totally sapped all the energy out of that place. If they would have replaced sleight of hand with say hti or patriots...now we're talking.

I just think many fans became lost with those three albums and started coming back around again when backspacer was released. It's evident because this entire tour is selling the best I've seen since 98. I mean for christ's sake dallas has only upper levels directly behind the stage left. Charlotte...uppers behind the stage. I think pearl jam was irrevalant for a good 9 years and now they're back in the eyes of many fans.

I had a better time at 1 because of the people I was with, but 2 was a better show with a better crowd.

Plus Ed was getting pissed in night 1 and not in a good way. He was yelling at one of his techs for something at the end of the show.

Night 2 was more of a celebration the entire night.

  • Night 2 bar none, hands down. The energy was better, crowd was better and the setlist flowed wayyyyy better.

Night 1 had a good setlist but didn't flow right. Change the order of some of those songs and the crowd would have been more into it.

Plus night 2 had an improv of Leaving here. Not on the original setlist. That's what type of magical night it was.

    AWESOME!
