I ll write a review tomorrow but tonight was just sick. Amazing. My 50th show couldn't have been any better. No money song? You're right because The whole night was money. I love this band.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

I got home an hour ago (went out after the show) and i just read all 10,000 pages of this thread because I do not want this night to end.
I was pretty close on stone's side last night (i consider <10 ppl deep close) and i was sure nothing that happened tonight would top it. Tonight I was in the rafters, row 18 sec 222. I'm used to the rafters so I know the crowd isn't as crazy as 10c seats, and I was prepared to be the only person singing along to the LB songs, but I was very surprised about how people kept coming and going to get beer, food, whatever. I kind of understand ppl not rocking out too much esp if they were drinking because it is fucking STEEP up there. There is ZERO space in front of you. I was quite scared that I was going to go tumbling down onto the ppl in front of me, so i was significantly tamer tonight. Also, I seem to wound up in the smokers section, which I think is what I get for dragging a pregnant friend along with me.

The setlist was beyond amazing for me. Combined with last night's setlist I feel like 90% of my most favoritest songs got played. Down is a huge deal for me because I randomly read A People's History... and became a fan of Howard Zinn without finding out about the PJ connection until several years later. That was actually how I found out he died.... so weird. Anyway Rats I've seen before but tonight's performance was especially awesome. SOLAT, Wash, BLOOD!!!!!!, All those Yesterdays... I can't even.... and Footsteps!!!!!!!!!!!! Fucking footsteps!!!!!!!! last exit>hail, hail>in hiding>down.... I KNEW this night was gonna be something special at that point and then a few minutes later, Present Tense. And holy fucking balls, Leavin' Here??!?! NEVER in a million years would I have expected to hear that live.
I really don't have the words. Mike McFuckingCreedy.

Goodnight all. Love, even to everyone who hates my home

I think I might collapse in Hartford.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but we are not all easily impressed. Sure all PJ shows are great, for the "Saturday night NYC" show it was a bit of a let down. Lots of lyric screw ups, no getaway or sleeping by myself, no rare songs on par with what has been recently played (Oceans, Otherside, Chloe/Crown). The last two shows, when I saw the setlist I thought "I can't believe I missed that show." Last night's setlist just wasn't like that, if I had missed the show, I wouldn't really care.

Just saying hi - I was lucky enough to be at this show last night and as it got going and I continuously couldn't believe the songs we were getting, I also thought of the folks who would be following along on this thread - it was every bit as epic as you can have imagined, and more. I can not believe that going to only 1 show this tour, that I got to be at THIS one. Just can't believe it. It was beautiful.

If you weren't there last night, you missed something special. It's that simple. I was also there Friday night and it wasn't the same, despite what the paper setlist tells you. Last night was the special one.

    My 2 cents:

I went to both Brooklyn shows and while I was in a better position (better seat, with a friend), night 2 obliterated night 1, which was amazing, by the way. First night had some amazing rarities/songs I haven't heard yet (Dissident, Oceans! Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns) and it was amazing to hear the new songs live, night 2 just had a special layer on almost everything. Did Ed mess up a few lyrics? Sure. Did he sing Porch better the first night - possibly. But they improved on their incredible Friday night performance.

    My reasons:

    1. Mike played more solos. I love Stone and was thrilled to see him play more but Mccready was so on last night. Black-Alive combo killed me. The solos were on fire.

    2. Song selection - as much as I love first night's choices, night 2 hit the sweet spot for me (and many others). Rats, Present Tense, Hail, Hail (night 1 had ZERO No Code...that's a serious defect in any setlist imo), SOLAT, Immortality, All Those Yesterdays (15th time ever!)...Ed thought thsi one through pretty well - ATY - Future Days - DOE = awesome.

    3. Fewer new songs + better performances of new songs = Each show, I expect them to get more comfortable with the new material, which I love btw, but 8 of them in one show (and no Getaway...) plus a few Backspacers put 1/3 of the show being really new. By cutting down, I think it made the show more cohesive.

    4. ENCORES! Other than Oceans and Porch, Night 2's encore blew 1st night's away. Same for 2nd encores. RITFW vs Sonic Reducer = no contest. The energy was insane, and I've never seen so many people videotaping the AUDIENCE as during that encore. Whipping/Blood/Leaving Here vs Wasted...no contest.

    5. Ed was in a better mood - I lost count of how many tambourines he threw into the crowd. He was just having a ball and that has a huge influence on everything. He could've pulled back, but he didn't. He has today to rest and will hopefully give us 2 historic Philly shows!

    Happy Sunday all!
