So it seems there is some consensus on the LA shows Well at least for a handful of us But it would be awesome to finally hear this. Ed's lyrics have been the best therapy for me. And I'm a therapist I may have just put myself out of business...
Interesting thing about "AON" is that the lyrics were actually written by both Stone and Ed (Or as the booklet says, "Words: Gossard/Vedder")...I've always wondered what that meant; did they actually sit and write it together? Or had one of them written it, and the other suggested enough changes/additions/etc. that warranted the co-writing credit?

I love that line...well, that and all the others! (Not to mention Mike's amazing solo...)
Good question. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during the collaborating process. It's the lyrics that always pull me in...I love the music and it's awesome to have the combo between the words and lyrics...it's just the words that resonate with me.
I couldn't agree more about lyrics...I'm always amazed by people who don't know what they are or don't care, they just "like the music." I can't get into bands/artists if only the music is good...I just saw the Cult this summer, not because I wanted to, and even though they "rocked," the lyrics were so stupid, I just couldn't get into it. I can't connect with a song on any emotional level if the lyrics are lame.
Whereas I love listening to Dylan, whose music doesn't rock and whose voice is, well, what it is...but to each his (or her) own!

There really isn't anyone else that comes close to resonating with me in the same way PJ does. That may be in part because I've already found what I was looking for with PJ and haven't given any other bands the same kind of listen. I enjoy Neil Young, REM, MMJ, Wilco, The National, Ryan Adams, etc but even they are on a different level for me.
