    +1

If anything I converted my wife to being more of a Pearl Jam fan since we met 10 years ago. She pokes the odd fun at me, but doesn't really give me a hard time about it. Basically she just bugs me about possibly having a Man Crush on Eddie Vedder.. which is probably just to justify her own crush on Eddie Vedder :)[/quote]

Same here, she teases me on my obsession but has come around and now quite likes the band/ Eddie (of course).
I've worn her down. In a marriage there are some things that you just have to accept about someone. Like how I accept the fact that my wife is an exceptional cook! :P

I've been lucky with my girl... on our first date... I noticed she had "Ten" in her car :)

within three months we we're truckin it to Chicago to see PJ at Lolla.

She's been with me at every show since. Much to the chagrin of the friends I used to bring along :)

  • At this point I don't even think mine tolerates it..... lol

But than again, this is the one thing that is MINE. As a working Mom, there's rarely anything that is just mine. So I'm ok with it, and I get to meet cool people too. Takes some getting use to, walking into concerts by myself but once they start playing I'm no longer alone.

  • My wife took the time to actually try and figure it out. She listened to nothing but Pearl Jam for a solid week. By the end she said she gets it and now knows almost every word, but every time tour season comes around and I want to go to more than one it's a 24 hour discussion. It's okay though. I'd take that over her hating them.
  • My wife gets it and has started to develop one herself. I've actually started shipping Tenclub merch to the office to the avoid the afternoon phone call or text that says "What did you order from the Tenclub?" Marriage saver!

Mine doesn't either. Supports the band but not like me.

If only I was that rich  Seriously though, my wife would likely sign up for elective root canals before listening to PJ. I know the feels, fellow loners.

she just calls me nuts... she likes alot of the new songs out. Pendulum, infallible, swallowed whole, FDs and yellow moon. She also loves them live- best concert she has ever been too...

a couple cheap shots at my sticker collection but when i put them all in the poster frame she was impressed and thought it was pretty cool.

As long as i support her camera addiction i should have no issues... 8-)

I will always get the "what did you order now?" question and that damn look  , damn i hate that look... 8-)

  • I made my wife watch PJ20. Once it was over she looked at me as said..."ok, I get it now"

That was a pretty cool moment.
    here for the music...

I agree,I've been to a couple on my own, but it doesn't matter because the fans are so embracing. I love the PJ culture.

  • My wife and I are both 41 years old. She totally gets it and is even flying with me to Portland for a show the day after Thanksgiving. She has gone as far as to call PJ the "soundtrack of our lives together". Having said that she can't understand how I can listen to any album on a loop over and over again like I have been with this one since the stream came out (despite my rants that it's streaming the black circle).

My wife understands my obsession, that's not to say she likes it. Those are 2 different things. She will definitely not be liking it this Thursday when she drops me at the airport for my transatlantic flight.
  • Im glad mine doesn't. This allows me to do road trips with my buddies. I am glad that she supports it though. I did pull one over on her though and planned our honey moon to be in Portugal three years ago when PJ was playin Optimus Alive. Surprised that didn't end the marriage right then and there.

great topic. i relate with about 90% of the posts. At first, my wife thought the obsession was odd, then she grew to tolerate it. Then she was annoyed with it. Now she just makes fun of me. I'm ok with it since she's grown to like many pj tunes.
