Haha. Love it. I smell a spawn-off thread.

My wife just commented.....'maybe you two can get together, then...' :D

I'm not even sure I could be with someone who didn't share my passion for PJ at this point (or for music in general) .... On the surface, that seems ridiculous... but the more I think about it, I just don't see how it would work otherwise.

My wife is starting to wear PJ shirts with regularity the past few years and it is cramping my style.

Seriously though, she doesn't 'get' it but she loves that I have something I am passionate about and supports it

My husband does not get my PJ obsession, but at least he will go to the concerts and travel with me to see them. He just doesn't share the same passion. I met him in 1977 and he was obsessed with Led Zepplin. I was obsessed with Neil Young at the time. :D

I hear that!!! She is the only woman I know that "kinda" likes the band that has seen them nine times because I can't find anyone else to road trip with

Mine tolerates my obsession (Pearl Jam, Rush and Phish), and she's been to a few shows with me and had a great time. The obsession is not her thing, but she tolerates it.

Mine loves the band and comes to all the gigs with me. The issue is not about loving the band.

The issue is she does not get my merch/collecting obsession. Let's just say my negotiation skills have improved.

My husband doesn't get mine. He's always liked the band, I just started recently (12-12-12 to be exact) and I AM OBSESSED. I thought he would be happy I discovered Pearl Jam and a lot of other great bands from the 90s but NOPE said "I'm taking it too far". I calmly explained that it is rare to come across something so wonderful at our age that it makes you feel like you believe in Santa Claus again. Silly maybe, but that's the best way I can describe it. I get to see them for the first time in Worcester, Tuesday night and I am out of my mind with excitement. Life is awesome.

If anything I converted my wife to being more of a Pearl Jam fan since we met 10 years ago. She pokes the odd fun at me, but doesn't really give me a hard time about it. Basically she just bugs me about possibly having a Man Crush on Eddie Vedder.. which is probably just to justify her own crush on Eddie Vedder :)

Same here, she teases me on my obsession but has come around and now quite likes the band/ Eddie (of course).
I've worn her down. In a marriage there are some things that you just have to accept about someone. Like how I accept the fact that my wife is an exceptional cook! :P

I've been lucky with my girl... on our first date... I noticed she had "Ten" in her car :)

within three months we we're truckin it to Chicago to see PJ at Lolla.

She's been with me at every show since. Much to the chagrin of the friends I used to bring along :)

But than again, this is the one thing that is MINE. As a working Mom, there's rarely anything that is just mine. So I'm ok with it, and I get to meet cool people too. Takes some getting use to, walking into concerts by myself but once they start playing I'm no longer alone.

My wife took the time to actually try and figure it out. She listened to nothing but Pearl Jam for a solid week. By the end she said she gets it and now knows almost every word, but every time tour season comes around and I want to go to more than one it's a 24 hour discussion. It's okay though. I'd take that over her hating them.

My wife gets it and has started to develop one herself. I've actually started shipping Tenclub merch to the office to the avoid the afternoon phone call or text that says "What did you order from the Tenclub?" Marriage saver!

If only I was that rich  Seriously though, my wife would likely sign up for elective root canals before listening to PJ. I know the feels, fellow loners.
