Anyway, even though it was all for naught, it was cool waiting with/chatting outside with some of you. If the girl with the little dog reads this, who I met twice that day, you made the right decision to go b/c Ed never came.:P

well eff that. next time I am going in a leg cast.

I had been counting down the days since I purchased the ticket. one ticket. one girl who wanted to see Eddie so badly. 5 hour trip. I went through so much to get there. Got lost, went an hour out of the way. I was DETAINED at the border! I was beyond pissed. They even made me go inside to immigration. I was about to throw up on their desk. I got the the show like 10 minutes late. Once I sat down, I just started bawling. I was like, I cannot believe I'm finally here after 7 hours.

The show made everything that I went through worth it. I would so do it all again. I loved how much Eddie talked to the audience. The Bill Hicks joke about evolution..haha, I had just listened to that joke earlier. I love how quick Eddie was with his comebacks. I was like, ohh yeah, just my stlye. Eddie playing drums, "I'm just going to sit over here..." awesome. I had the time of my life. It's a night I'll never ever forget.

I'm taking the posters to get framed tomorrow.

Reading over all your experiences has made me so excited all over again. Kind of like that feeling you get when you listen to the bootleg of a show you attended

I'm sorry to hear about all you're bad luck , but at least you know when it's an Ed (or PJ) show that's always worth whatever it takes.

My wife and I were saying how quick Ed was with the crowd to

Did anyone catch any of the roses that were thrown at the end? These 2 guys I'd seen in Montreal, and then Toronto, one guy yells across to his friend in another part of the threatre after the show 'I got a leaf', and the other guy yells 'I got petals' and holds them up. Maybe you had to be there but it was so funny!

That was good, I was actually a bit disappointed when he stopped, lol, but he ended up playing it later anyway so it's all good.

So, after the show, did anyone else wait outside the venue for a very long time after? There were like 40 of you, show yourselves...:)

I was one of them, waited til around 130-2am before I left. Apparently he took off from the front doors which is a bummer. He never did stick around for Auto's in toronto I dont think.

I waited outside before and after each show and he pretty much just waived every time. There was a good collection of people, so he might have been stuck there forever had he started to sign autos.

not sure if it carried over into the second evening, but prior to the first Massey Hall show i was told Ed wouldn't be signing anything the afternoon of the show (the exception was made for that evening's poster which he signed for me on behalf of the pre-party fundraiser) or after the first show because he wasn't feeling well. from what i can tell, that poster was the ONLY thing he signed while at Massey Hall (of course, there was a meet-and-greet going on as well, but that doesn't count hehe),...

Toronto Night 2. Wish that night would never end. :(

I had Row L Seat 45. I gave my spare 10club to MrMerkinball. On the house. He helped me out, so it's only right to return the favour. :)

The show, again, was sweet! Liam, as usually played an amazing set. Think him & Final Fantasy needs to tour sometime together. Book me tickets!!

The Ed show was truely one of a kind. Think this night, was a night I'll never forget. Why? Well, when I couldn't stop crying for some reason. When Man of the Hour was played, think I almost fainted. It was just powerful. Plus, there was a friend, I think, which I wished I had made a different take the night before. Don't think I will get my chance to ever see her again. Which is why, I keep fucking up. :(

To the Fundraiser. Nick Rodrique from White Ribbon Campaign was there early to greet me. He handed me down the Official White Ribbon Pin, took pictures, told stories. He's an amazing person. A waitress working at the Elephant & Castle was doing a project that week on White Ribbon. It was an honor helping them out. Eric, 100pacer, recommend we do White Ribbon for the Fundraiser. It was great to do my friend. :) That day we raised $925 dollars. If you read my early post in the Toronto Night 1 thread, check this out about the signed Eddie Vedder poster that was donated. http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=299400 . It was auctioned off at $300 dollars. Sweet! :)

That night after the show, I headed back to my hotel. It was a big mistake. I was in tears, and couldn't face a few of my friends. I'm sorry. I was gonna head back to Massey Hall, to say a last goodbye, but I couldn't. I couldn't stop crying. And as I type this, i'm in tears. That night, I turned on the tv to the Olympics & I called up Laura as we talked all night. Now i'm back here in Halifax. I'm sad & lonely once again. Need to get out of this small town. Thought the time had come, but it hasn't.

    Well, till the next one.
    Take care!

Hi guy's! I might be moving close too. Well, looking for a place to live in Ontario. Think it's time I live this small town and head up to where my mind takes me.

Got any cool places? Single room apartments? Thinking about Toronto, but don't know it to well, and don't know anybody around. Any help would be sweet.

Toronto is fantastic! It doesn't take long to get well-acquainted with it. Where are you coming from??? It all depends on whether you want something similar to where you are or something totally new..... :)

i live now in dartmouth, nova scotia, canada
first i need to find a job, or get a place settled in when i come to ontario.
either find a friend interested in moving in with me, or find a cheap safe place to stay, till i get settled in.

Yes, and yes. Not coming near me anytime soon though but I'd see him any time.
Everything about these shows and Ed's tour seems so perfect to me, this includes the opening act, their own set and how they help Eddie out--not that he needs the help, either. Ed's just amazing up there on the stage all by himself.
I really hope they release all of these.

I just missed Ed going into Massey Hall on night 1, and his driver actually said he wouldn't be coming out to sign auto's becuase some "over-zealous" aka stalker fans had wrecked it for the rest of us. :( The driver was nice, though, and offered to delivery a note to Eddie for me (not sure if he ever got it - I requested Olympic Platinum in keeping with the times, but no mention of it during either of the Toronto shows).

It shattered any expectations that i had, i have never seen a crowd like that at Massey Hall, i wish i had gone to both nights.

Also thanks to polaris for the great seat on the floor!!
Enjoy difference. Without it we're all boring!

  • Well this is my first post here after a long while of reading these boards, checking out setlists, seeing other people's stories, etc., but finally felt compelled to write after witnessing the best concerts(s) I've ever seen.

I didn't get 10c tickets for either night as they sold out so damn fast and I had to work during the pre-sale. I did have 3 friends try to get them for me but to no avail. thankfully I was off come the public sale and got them through Massey Hall online :) Happy just get a seat there, 10c or not!

I didn't think night one could be topped really. My first time at Massey Hall, a good friend in tow for her birthday present, my favourite solo artist up on stage giving it his all, and blowing me away with how powerful his voice can be by itself. The highlight of that night for me was hearing Arc for the first time live. I never thought much of the studio version of it, but seeing it live, the raw emotion, the cool looping that is used to make that song, I was just blown away. Not to mention hearing all of the Into the Wild stuff live for the first time, some amazing covers of songs I have come to adore having not previously given them a serious listen (Trouble, Long May You Run, Walking the Cow, The Seeker). Not to mention the insanely good cover of Old Man that Liam Finn did. Of course I was wrong....and the best was saved for night two, even if I heard a lil Believe You Me on night one!

Where do I begin? The speakerless effort of Liam Finn, was pure magic. I was shocked that the crowd was so dead quiet for it, and quite thankful. Believe it or not Helpless wasn't such a highlight for me, until I listened to it for the first time when I got back home. Loved the sing along at the end of that song though. Then there was Lukin, a song I never thought I'd hear acoustically save for the Benyaroya Hall release. Arc was breathtaking and tear-inducing, and I think that is fast becoming my fave live song. so much cooler to witness that live!! Old Man again by Finn but with Ed on drums. Glad he did it again, but this time with Ed :). I couldn't believe Ed pulled off a solo RITFW, on top of technical difficulties (great acapela by the crowd!), and sounded better than any PJ version I've heard to date. I loved the banter between Ed and the crowd both nights, but ya it gets tiresome, but on the other hand, it does add a lil humour to the night. Still waiting for that are wrestling match to occur! :) Also loved how Ed carried on the married woman and Elgin stories from the previous night. Shows how much he knows about his audience, and the connection he has with it. Classy, caring guy.

I've seen Pearl Jam live 10 times before, the best being the second Toronto show in 06, and this one rivals that, and in time I think it will surpass it...as long as I get a bootleg of it somewhere. An official release would be to die for :)

Thanks for the great memories Ed and thanks for letting me share some of them on this board guys! I'll try not to be such a stranger in the future!
