seriously i DO understand the frustration though. There have been countless test presses on ebay the last few year that I would really love to jump on, and we have to ask the same question - how do test presses get out there? I can never afford them but i sure would love to and if i could I would. The limited items are always a nightmare and regularly outside my budget, and being the compulsive guy i am I always want each item. I guess I have to live with the fact that its just not possible and sometimes I cant have it.

Same as me man. So many sweet Pearl Jam items out there I can't get a reach for. Would love that Pearl Jam ATA Road Case Used by Members of Pearl Jam .. that's on eBay right now. But you gotta live in Texas to pick it up. Those vinyl test pressings also go over a grand. And true, not possible to own every single Pearl Jam related item that's out there. Would be sweet though.

So this is not an official Pearl Jam promo release? If not, then why hasn't Kat and Sea here shut down this offer on this release? Wouldn't this be, illegal? Just wondering because if it's not an official Pearl Jam promo item, and the band co. terminated this, how is it spreading? Have they charged the one's who took these copies and selling them? I just find it weird this is selling for over $1500+ when it was only pressed a few years ago? Given away, for free?

I just hope Pearl Jam Co. & the 10club presses more of these and releasing them, for under 50 bucks. But that's never gonna happen. But you never know.

Wrong Eric. What I do is trade & distribute LIVE bootlegs, freely & "legal". I don't make a dime. For fans, by fans. The only thing that I've invested is my time to hook up my friends, freely. Nothing more. Nothing less. Talk to those that do make a profit and sell. Not me.

What exactly is wrong about my statement? Your reply only confirmed what I stated: that you trade and distribute bootlegs, correct? So you know the difference between a bootleg and an official release, correct? And you know the items being offered up by Paul's source are in fact official and not a bootleg, correct? Which is to say you shouldn't be questioning whether something being offered here is "illegal" when you know it's not, correct?

Be more careful with your words is all I'm suggesting. You've seen what has happened in the past when you've made "assumptions" only to be proven wrong.

Well off course this item is official. It say's Sony all over it. What I'm trying to say is if this item isn't supposed to be out there in the hands of the fan's, why is it then? Who is this one selling a 2nd copy & probably more here? It's OK to sell this product here that shouldn't be? THAT's what i'm trying to say. And the fact that it's value is high.

The only interaction you and I had back at the '09 Philly shows was when I spotted you at the airport after the shows and unexpectedly handed you one of Mike's picks from the last show. So I really don't know where you're coming from.

And no fingers were pointed, virtually or otherwise. If was clear before you even posted your apology to Paul that you resented the value the item in question commands. And you were clearly calling into question its' value and authenticity for no other respectable reason (read: of no advancement in discussions about said item).

Whilst I hate to dwell on this - it's worth pointing out the only difference between the Gitd and this set is distribution. We have no idea why that is

I sure don't buy the argument that the sales shouldn't take place when a giveaway sale here is never taken down

Lets let it lie. Many people want the set and the intention was to just help those people out or give them the chance. Nothing more nothing less. Certainly didn't expect this shit storm.

I can remove it no problem if that makes things easier. No big deal.

IMHO Paul is a great guy. He doesn't know me from a hole in the wall and has always given me honest prices about pj merch. I don't see any reason to question anything this man puts on the boards. He s just trying to make sure real fans get superior items for at market or under market value.
