    Roger went to surgery today to get off life support, but no go. We'll try again tomorrow.

    The doctors took Roger off life support today! :D He is still on a ventilator. They are hoping to close his chest up Saturday! Thank you soo much!

    I went to see Roger Thursday. I saw him move his arm for the first time in two weeks! He looked much more at ease sleeping too. They are beginning to wean him off the ventilator today, and maybe close his chest up this weekend! Step by step!

    Roger got the bar in his chest out today. and they closed his chest up! his kidneys and liver still aren't working, but it's a lot better than august 23rd! thank you guys!

    Please, looking for an update! I haven't been on this board in a really really long time. I happened to log on today and saw this thread.
    My son has Hypolplastic Left Heart Syndrome, he has endured these surgeries (as an infant/toddler) and just turned 14.
    I’m praying for Roger and I’m praying for strength for his family. He will get through this!
    The Fontan is the toughest procedure in this series -to make the heart/lungs function with this particular defect. My son’s recovery was especially rough with this surgery, I think he was in the hospital for over 90 days post surgery.
    I am praying now for this little guy and his family…..these kids are amazingly strong, I have faith. 

    Please, feel free to message me for anything, I’ve walked in these shoes with my son.

    And on a side note, I was on this board 14 years ago when my son’s heart journey started.
    The people on here provided so much support and love, just amazing!

    Roger had a swallowing test today and he did great! his stiches are out. he is peeing! :D before I know it he will be back telling me I walk funny because of my ms.

    Kids are amazing!! They just don't know to be afraid or upset!! So they just push through!! They truly get what living is all about!! It's an amazing thing to witness!! So glad to hear this Norman!
