The Affordable Care Act has already been declared a failure? I must be behind on my news.

I'd rather have a president with no military experience. What were the others? Bush was in the reserves and he really made great military decisions.

always the Bush comebacks, like obama has made things better sense Bush left ?

Things are not better than they were in 2008? Do tell.

If you take off the tin foil hat and actually, you know, look into the ACA, you will see that this is not the case at all. If you are going to troll, at least have some idea what you are talking about.

One of the selling points of this law was that it would immediately employ 25,000 people to enter American's paper medical records into a computer data base.

The only way anyone could possibly support this terrible thing is if they squeeze their eyes shut real tight and stick their fingers in their ears and repeat..."O...BA...MA.....O...BA...MA" "Hope and change...hope and change...hope and change" "Bush bad...Bush bad...Bush bad"

Thanks BinFrog for reinforcing the ignorance of the Obama worshipers. You didn't even choose between mocking or name calling you did both.

Oh I'm sorry, I work in healthcare and I deal with this stuff on a daily basis. What are your credentials for this topic? Please tell me why I should take anything you have posted seriously?

Employing people to enter paper records into EMRs does not equate to centralizing them into a gov't database.

Call me an Obama supporter. I voted for him but am a registered independent, so I really don't care what you think of me. You are wrong, firing off nonsense and I'm calling you out.

thank you for pointing out your true colors. I didn't mock or name call. The whole premise of your "thought provoking" initial post in this thread was so inconceivably wrong that I don't even know where to begin. You are trying to call me out for ignorance? Oh the irony.

    Thank you binfrog.

The ACA is a conservative idea patterned off of Romney's plan in Mass. There is so much disinformation from the GOP that people don't even think rationally any more.

The left wanted universal/single payer. The route the ACA took is the conservative plan....do you really not understand that?

The question is: why are otherwise sensible people, because of Obama now trust, respect, and support an oppressive, gigantic beuracracy, run by a ruling class of elitests? I think that is a fair and reasonable question.

Actual 1960's radical hippies have made a complete 180 and are all in for a more powerful federal government. The only and I mean ONLY difference is the emergence of one man Barack Obama.

This I cannot understand. What is it about Obama? Aside from the media only reporting stuff that reinforces the imaginary genius and his pop-culture persona.

These people I am referring to do not agree with Obama's ideas and ideals because no sane American would.

    What am I missing?

There are far too many people in the world.. People that can steal or harm or terrorize us.. this world can not be managed without a large unified presence - which is what government is... the same people that complain about too much government also complain when the government can not support them when they need it.

we have to learn to see the big picture in all of our thoughts, which is difficult when the television pretends to know things - and bombards us with fears...

there are billions of people... billions..... and we need food and hospitals and learnin... withoug learnin we can't survive.. without BIG government we can't survive..

so we shrink the poplulation significantly, or work on a better government with the understanding that big government is here to stay and thank God for that

Sorry otter, but your point isn't very clear. What oppressive, giant bureaucracy are people supporting? Which people? Which 60's radicals are in favor of a more powerful government? Are you talking about the Affordable care act, or something else? Then you said they don't agree with Obama's ideals after saying earlier in the post that they do. Keep in mind that you started a thread the other day about liberals not being able to make a good argument.

Sorry man, you just don't get the fact that people are calling you out for not expressing anything clearly and rambling on and on.

  • I would love to see those who think the gov't does too much to be stripped of all gov't aids, and then see how long it takes for them to ask for help because life is way too hard.

I do not believe in all of Obama's ideas, but him wanting to help the American people isn't a bad thing. Yeah he is going overboard with things not needed and things that costs too much, but his intent is good. He just wants you to know that when things are down, there is someone willing to help. I am not justifying him, but one must understand that, regardless if you agree or not. I didn't agree with all of Bush's policies either but I never once thought he was going to destroy America.

Also, if one thinks the Liberals are a danger and threat to America, that person needs a reality check. If our government was either all conservative or all liberal then we are screwed. You need BALANCE. Luckily for America right now we have a majority GOP Congress who makes sure there are not all Liberal policies being put into law. If you have all one party and philosophy in government, there is no constructive arguments and balance in making laws.

How can anyone support a federal government taking more control of our lives?

Obama is the worst thing that has ever happened to the United States of America because his cult of personality is transforming the last place for freedom into the last place where people were free.

Can you tell us more about this "federal government database of everybody's medical info?"

    The one that doesn't exist!

The thing that is scary to me is that many people seem to root for either Democrats or Republicans like they're sports teams. Even family and friends seem to want align their identity with one or the other and seem to be blinded by their party from looking at things from an objective angle. The two party system is really weakening the country, IMO.

In my opinion, Bush's administration was pretty bad and created a lot of turmoil for the country. Unfortunately I have the same sentiment towards Obama's admin. Some things have improved, some have worsened, but overall my personal feeling is that we've continued to slide backwards.

One of the biggest things that doesn't sit right with me is the Obama admin's military policies. After listening to his campaign speeches I would have thought we wouldn't be where we are now, with the number of troops committed to Afghanistan, Yemen, etc. Not to mention the ridiculous drone strikes. It was obvious that he was going to push for healthcare to change and alternative fuels - we saw that coming; but the military, spending, economy, welfare, and debt categories are pretty rough.

Agreed. Both parties are dominated by special interests and neither are working for the average person or benefit of the country as a whole. Size of the federal government and snooping into our lives is very scary, but people rather focus on their hatred of Obama or hatred of the right wing.

What's scary is that the government snooping, abuse of Patriot Act, etc has gotten worse and not better under Obama . Personally, I don't care much for him, but I'll take him over the current woman haters running the Republican party. Unless they can stop the pandering to the religious right Christian taliban I won't support them. I'd rather pay more taxes and keep sovereignty over my own life/body, thanks very much

Obama might do some more war.

Every decision this guy makes when it comes to war is the antithisist of peace.

Obama is perpetuating world war. World war will result in the death of innocence on a grand scale.

Obama votes for death of innocence on a grand scale every chance he gets. He voted numerous times for partial birth abortion.

    I'm going to cry now.

Do you really believe what you are saying? would you say this in comparison to the previous administration? or the one before that or the one before that? or just in comparison to say a school teacher?

and please, you should know that our President had never voted for partial birth abortions... if you cared to know you would already know - and if you care to know, it is not difficult to learn.
