    Yes, on most part it's the dog's owner who's responsible for his/her dog's behavior. Pit bulls are very loyal dogs and unfortunately, they are sometimes used in dog fighting or trained to be aggressive for other reasons. It's a shame. :( Mel is a very well behaved dog though... but still no one wants her. :(

    You did a great thing by rescuing 2 dogs. It's awesome! :D I also have 2 rescues, all together I have 3 dogs, so I can't adopt Mel either. :( I'm just hoping for a miracle at this point, because she's only got till tomorrow to find home. :(

    I'm bringing some good news today! :D Finally, Mel has been adopted by one of my neighbor's friends! She's going to stay with my neighbor until Tuesday, during which time the new owner will take care of all the paperwork with the shelter, and then off she goes! :D

    She's a lucky one and looks like a sweetheart. So nice to see a happy ending.

    Probably a pipe-dream, but here's to all the other Mel-like dogs being adopted into loving, permanent & responsible homes (spay/neuter your pets, people!!).

    I concur!

    People need to spay and neuter their pets. There are about 20-30 dogs (and many more cats) euthanized everyday in NYC alone, all because there are just not enough homes for all these animals. There is a Facebook open group that has dogs on a death row listed, in attempts to give them the last chance at life. Some get lucky, others don't. The bottom line is: people need to get educated on this matter, or the senseless killings never end.
