Rodeo Clown with a Obama mask

Look at what's going on in North Carolina and other states right now... blatant attempts to disenfranchise black voters by Republican leaders... I suppose the NAACP is making too much of that too??
Godfather wants to accuse the NAACP of "fishing for shit"... as if they aren't tackling serious problems that affect minority citizens... this Obama rodeo clown thing is just a more vivid example of what's still going on in America.0

soooooo just because obama is PART black and a white rodeo clown wears a obama mask and says lets smoke obama...that's racism ?...guy's your all going to have come to terms and understand that the GENERAL public that once supported obama is now very unhappy with his actions as president and that has become more and more visible in the news and just the small talk that happens on forums like this one, constantly pulling the race card is a form of racism in it's self, crap man open your eyes...Americans are becoming pissed at the way he has handled his terms in office and it is not a black thing or a white thing...he fucked up plane and simple.

maybe the rodeo clown stunt was a political statement, maybe it wasn't. bottom line: people are taking it TOO seriously. people are allowed to make political statements if they want to. just because the guy making the statement was white and the guy he was making the statement against was black doesn't automatically make it a racist statement.
isn't this the exact thing the black community wants to get away from? always bringing colour into everything?
newsflash: a black president can still be a shitty president and get made fun of! it's no more inappropriate than Ed "impaling" GWB on a microphone stand. that didn't automatically mean Ed hates texas! or does it? Gimli 1993 Gimli 1993

I was just looking thru facebook and it seems that in 1994 someone did the same thing with a bush mask and the guy was black but the fed's didn't go after him and he didn't lose his job.

Whether it's racist or not, I don't know. Disrespectful of the president, definitely.
I agree with those who are saying rodeo is a cruel sport. OTOH I grew up going to the rodeo (there's a longtime family connection) and the annual rodeo is still a big occasion in my town. I still go once in a very great while, maybe every 10 years. I don't remember Bush being criticized but that just may be my memory lapse. I remember some very crude jokes about Clinton during the 90s, and no, they didn't refer to Monica Lewinsky. I wasn't a big fan of Clinton but I thought the humor crossed the line.
People who attend rodeos are by and large a fairly conservative group. When I attended in January of this year, the announcer started off by asking in ominous tones "Are you worried about our country today?" Then spent most of the evening bemoaning the the terrible state of our society. I'm fairly sure he could have made the same comments 5, 10, 15 or 20 years ago and it would have resonated with somebody. It annoyed me no end. The place was packed with kids and their parents who are there for what's supposed to be a fun time. We could all have done without the social commentary.
What I'm getting at is that the clown making fun of Obama was probably funny to some people but also embarrassing to others. I disliked Bush and I'm not terribly fond of Obama but no matter who the president may be, the office should command some respect from us."The stars are all connected to the brain."0

I agree, during the Bush administration I was frustrated with our state of affairs with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. I still gave him the respect the office of Presidency demands, it's not an easy job.
