I think we need some degenerate reviews on the new album here

I know

Opinions are like assholes, they stink

So what do you hear so far?

We can all rethink this after a few shows and some time for it to grow

I'm not loving that exit we took after avocado

This will only make the old stuff better

After a few listens, I think we have a good half of an album

Pendulum and yellow moon will have to grow on me a little

The rest just too soft with lyrics that do not add much

As of right now, I don't hear anything better than the worst song on avocado

Just my opinion, which I'm sure will change with time and 2 Worcester shows

The more times I listen to it the more I like it, especially with some good headphones on. But, things start to fall apart at the end. The last 3 songs I could do without and Pendulum isn't a favorite either so far. It feels like Brendan O'Brian had way too much influence on this album. All in all though I'm digging it, can't wait until Friday!

Got back from travels late last night, havent had a chance to stream it yet. Will do so and let you know what I think.
I liked Mind Your Manners (thought the shirt/single art was cool too, even if they dont know the proper way to set a plate following 'proper manners' lol) more than Sirens but I can see Sirens growing on me more after seeing it live if they are into it.
I liked Lightning Bolt at Wrigley.
Future Days was not anything that grabbed me.

Since I'm in first place

I'll do The SoS review of Lightning Bolt

1. Getaway - Great opening track. It's no Last Exit, but it is better than the Offspring's version.
2. Mind Your Manners - The best first single since Alive. Love the Holiday in Cambodia/Ace of Spades feel to it.
3. My Father's Son - Love this one. Has a nice Dead Kennedy's bassline and would be at home on a Queens of the Stone Age album
4. Sirens - Grown on me since the first release. Still a little too much Kings Of Leon/U2 sounding for me to completely love.
5. Lightning Bolt - Amongst the Waves 2.0 Solid rocker, Backspacery
6. Infallible - Great tune, maybe they could do a mash up with Eminem's Lose Yourself at the next Jay-Z festival.
7. Pendulum - Dark, No Code mixed with some Hitchcock. Love this one as well.
8. Swallowed Whole - Reminds me of the live band performance of Setting Forth. Sounds like an Into The Wild song with some touches of the Who.
9. Let the Records Play - I wish was an instrumental song to be honest.
10. SBM - WTF!, the Ukelele songs version is far superior. Don't know what BoB was thinking. It's out of place.
11. Yellow Moon - Low Light part 2, but dare I say better than the original. It's focused where Low Light meanders.
12. Future Days - BRUUUUUUUUCE!

The Waiting Trophy Man

Still breaking in the album, but I'm digging it. And think I'm gonna like it better than Backspacer, which isn't really that great of an achievement, lol.

Pendulum and Yellow Moon might be my top 2 tracks, Swallowed Whole is catchy and stays in my mind long after listening, which is a good sign.

Can't wait to blare it while driving!
