Is Breath still _Breath_ ?

  • I couldn't believe we got Breath in the VERY underrated Charlotte 2003 show. To this day that show probably has the best setlist IMO of the 19 times I've seen them so far. Granted, most of my shows have occurred in VA and NC so that's not saying much...

I only been to two shows, during the italian mini-tour in 06.. One of them was Pistoia, and I vividly remember I had a boner during the outro solo by Mike in Breath .. good times

    I've seen breath 4 times total :)

The best, by far was in Oslo as I was about 5 feet in front of mike :)

Video is awesome until I thought why am I filming why mike is standing right there melting my face...

    Still worth checking out :)

Breath is definitely still 'Breath' for me, I'm not gonna lie, I was a little bit gutted when I saw it was on the setlist for Amsterdam 2 and they didn't play it :( I feel bad complaining about that show though, it was immense!

I think I've seen pretty much every other song I would want to. I've seen Crown of Thorns twice, would love to hear Chloe Dancer before it though. Oh, and the slow version of Lukin would be pretty sweet :D

I have to admit (and I know it isn't the official topic) songs I would really like to hear live:

    - Tremor Christ
    - Who You Are
    - Satan's Bed

Wanted to hear Smile for a long time and heard it last year in Amsterdam - yeah!

The "Breath" campaign was awesome. I still remember the excitement after MSG II; it felt as though something deep and meaningful had happened between the band and its fans.

    I've heard "Breath" three-and-a-half times:

    Jones Beach (soundcheck)
    State College
    PJ20
    Ottawa

I still think it'd make a great opener. Just wish they'd slow it down a bit.

    Imagine an encore ending with...

    Chloe Dancer/Crown of Thorns
    Breath

    ...?

I mean, that'd basically be the best thing in the history of the world, right?

For me it's been Alone that's the one old non album song I've been chasing. Played According to stat tracker : Alone 41, Breath 66.
My count is Alone 1, Breath 3.

My love for Alone could depend on my favorite boot I bought in -93, Deen Haag, March 2 1992. If you don't have that get it.

Been to 29 shows and only caught Breath at PJ20. Seen Crown of Thorns 4-5 times, Alone multiple times.
I've seen PJ for 19 years(1994-present), and have caught many songs during that time. Breath is still the Holy Grail.

I know what you are saying about Breath. I think it's still special when it's played.

Funny thing about this song, the guy I took to the Philly show in '00 when they broke it out has been to 5 shows with me. They've played Breath at all 5 of his shows

We talked after Wrigley (he didn't go)... He says "they knew I wasn't there, they didn't play Breath for you".

Funny, I just checked the song lyrics page... I've been lucky enough to hear it at three shows

    Philly 9/30/09
    MSG 10/21/10
    Alpine Valley 9/3/11

Since 2009 they've played it at 50% of the shows I attended (other 3 shows I saw since '09 were MIA, PJ20 2, Wrigley)

No but I will be at Barclays Night II and Philly Night I. I've also seen Bugs twice

Breath is my all time favorite song. Very meaningful. I hope I get to hear it live on this tour, will be going to 5 shows... I even started a thread requesting it to be played at Brooklyn. Unfortunately, it barely got a few replies
If I knew where it was, I would take you there.
