If you are worried about being squished, then get into the front and see what it's like. If it's too tight I won't stay at the front for the whole set. I'll probably aim for the side of the stage too, get's less cramped and you can at least move around a bit! :D

I'm GA! I seem to be one of the few people here who are, I wish I was 10C but I guess I'll have to slum it with the rest!

    2days, OMG!!
I know someday you'll have a beautiful life....

After a girl was crushed at a Smashing Pumpkins gig 10 years ago they've gotten a lot better, i.e. they have a barrier for the pit. However, I've found that it's fairly random as to whether they use that barrier or not. The last two gigs I've been there (REM, Bob Dylan), there wasn't one. It was fine for those gigs (especially REM, no crushing at all), but I'd imagine it will be different for PJ. It could get pretty tight in there. For most bands I wouldn't bother my ass trying to get close, but I will for this one.

Right, thanks for that. Will have to suck it and see I guess. I got in the 'heart' area of the U2 stage for the Elevation tour in London and that was perfect - plenty of room to move around with no crush at all.

Pegagus... will you be joining us at the temple bar before the gig? Do you want to tell us your 'real' name so we can add it to the list?

Any of the gigs I've been to in the Point have had a pit present (Greenday, Coldplay, Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, other shitty concerts)

Through my experience, its not packed the whole way through. The very front at the barrier is fine, then behind for about 4 rows of people is very squished, then behind them again theres all the people dancing, so there's room there. Its very easy to just get the hell out if it all gets too much.

Not really thought about it yet. Probably play it by ear and see what people are doing in the pub. Seems like a lot of folks are going to be in the Temple Bar so probably just follow the crowd.

I'm just hoping we don't get delayed too much at the airport going over the moment. Not that I'm complaining, I'd rather be safe and a few hours late :D

One thing actually, does anyone know how much we're looking at for a beer? I know it's £1 to about 1.5 euros, but how much is a beer :D Also, any idea on how much a taxi from the Airport to Temple Bar will be, and how much to the point, or is it walking distance?

Average Pint is €4.50 or more. Probably around €4.70/4.90 in the temple Bar. Guinness is cheaper though. Taxi from the Airport to town...maybe €15/20.
The point is within walking distance if you like a long walk :D

Doesn't the Luas run out to the airport? There's also many a bus that'll get you into the City alot cheaper than a Taxi.

I'm only travelling from Carlow, and herself from Navan, but once we meet in bus aras we still have to make it out to near the airport, check into our hotel, then get back into the City. Gonna be leaving early wed's morn to get that done so we can just get on with the drinking :D

not sure about Temple Bar...I know myself, once I have one I have 3...and on GA it's a mighty BAD idea!!
plus I plan to go out have some drinks the night before (I arrive about 10pm in Dublin).
    But I might..I'm Sandra

Hmmmm, that's the worry for me too, standing in a long queue for a couple of hours after a fair few pints (Which I will undoubtedly have) - once you go once, there's no stopping the flow ...

    10c also, sorry.

At Oxegen the drinks were €5.50 so I'd expect that in the point as well.

I dunno but I don't live in London but I'm guessing that London and Dublin would be pretty similar prices, just because they are capital cities I guess.
Either way, by the time you convert the Euro to the Pound it's expensive! :D

Cheers matey :) So it's about £3-£3.50 a pint on average then.

Taxi about a tenner so that's not so bad. Probably bus it in the morning anyway, it's just getting to the airport.

As for the long walk, our flight back to Brum is at 6:25 so we need to be at the airport for 4. So I make that drink till 2 and then 2 hours for walking. I'll be so happy I won't care, although drunken legs may say different :D

i dont quite know how thats scandalous ... its called an exchange rate .... how many euros would you like to get for 530 pounds?

Think about it the other way ... it will cost us (or anyone that lives in the euro zone) 800 euros to only get 530 pounds back!
